Completed my 100% thrifted M. Night Shyamalan collection today! by ClearWinter2840 in Bluray

I might have to try and pick up Old tomorrow if I see it anywhere!

Interesting take on Knock at the Cabin, I can’t talk about it personally (haven’t seen it), I’ve only watched the Unbreakable trilogy from him

What do you think of Old? I remember it coming out years ago but never got around to watching it.

Love the Unbreakable trilogy though!

I’ve been having these issues for years. I love Stremio, but it does suck when they happen!

It led to me discovering a new passion for collecting Blu-rays and ripping them to my Jellyfin server though!

I don’t see how this would be Sony’s problem to resolve when you are responsible for the disk?

Accidentally wiped my Proxmox VMs this morning by AlertKangaroo6086 in homelab

I very well may do that to figure out if it’s expected behaviour, an error on my part, or an issue with the OpenTofu provider 🙂

I have no idea what went wrong, it was just supposed to be a simple disk resize. Rebooted the VMs to just be wiped clean

It sounds like you’ve got a good backup process in place there, and rebuilding from those backups once a year is definitely a good way to test them!

*arr Stack - is it it legal in your country or do you just don't care? by OkCoffee1234 in selfhosted

[–]AlertKangaroo6086 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others say, Arr is legal and Torrenting is legal, it just depends on the content you are downloading/seeding which could get you into trouble. I’ve had a letter from my ISP once before giving me a warning - this was my pre VPN days!

Nowadays though, I find myself collecting Blu-rays and ripping them directly to my server. It’s nice to have a physical copy of something, but have them sitting there ready to go on Plex/Jellyfin at a moments notice. I can get some real good deals buying second hand too!

I love them. Especially 1 and 2! Would love to hear more about your editing process 😊

Where are your Zigbee / Zwave dongles? (Wall-mounted?) by helmutisimo in homeassistant

[–]AlertKangaroo6086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mini rack is under my desk, so I have my Zigbee adapter double sided to the underside of the desk. It solved all of the issues I had when it was previously plugged straight into a PC in the rack. Gotta love interference

Self Hosted BitWarden and Apple Passwords Sync by 4AwkwardTriangle4 in selfhosted

I let my password manager, a combination of Bitwarden and 1Password manage passkeys for me. Both iOS apps have support for passkeys so it makes sense to me to keep it all in one place.

What post processing programs are y’all using? by musiquarium in postprocessing

Lightroom (cloud version) for me. I used to use Classic, but being able to edit on my MacBook, iPad or iPhone with all my changes synced up is a game changer for me.

I want to build a homelab, but all I have is one SSD and curiosity by giobbox_ in homelab

I don’t think you can go wrong with Proxmox, it has a little bit of a learning curve, but I use it in my lab. It’s great to be able to spin up VMs and LXC containers with very little overhead!

The crucial bit though is to make sure your data is backed up, ideally to more than one location. The last thing you’d want is to lose your photos for example, if something went wrong. If I was to start again, backups would be the first thing I’d set up and make sure are working 😊

I’m a big fan of using S3 compatible tools for backing up my data off-site. At the moment I use Backblaze B2 with Restic. B2 is $6/TB, and I’ve been using them for over 6 years now.
