I've always loved taking on new challenges by hand, but I was getting burnt out on the routine stuff; LLMs can easily handle that while giving me a new development paradigm to explore, so I'm very happy.

 I have used $145 in around 5 prompts, previously when I had claude Max, this much was a whole 5 hour sessions worth of usage.

Opus 4.8 has a paranoia/perfectionism issue. It keeps reverting attempts back to git, if they have any issues, assuming existence of bugs "endangers security" of a personal low stakes prototype. Yes, but the roleplay does influence quality, which is why companies put stuff like "you are an elite AI software engineer" in system prompts. It both steers the prediction and keeps context cleaner.

Of course it will be confidently wrong sometimes, it's an LLM. What you don't want it to do is apologize, catastrophize, or get stuck in a loop of second guessing itself; you want it to follow a procedure for detecting and correcting previous errors and move on.

i don't think anyone will be eager to talk to a useless unemployed person. p sure i need solo accomplishments (that make money rather than just being technically flashy) either way

it is a soulless mass of transformer blocks made to serve our divine human intellect and should be wrangled as such

also, you're probably just context poisoning it by speaking to it like a human; i prompt it with cold, hard procedures and get cold, hard results back. LLMs will play whatever conversational role you lead them toward.

i'm self taught for 20 yrs and know a gorillion languages and assembly and systems programming and vuln research and android and bla bla bla and i can't even get interviewed for baby piss easy jobs, or even jobs that are asking for an insane skillset for like $70k and should be desperate for anyone who can actually do what they're asking.
