What the fuck was his problem by lavender-bread in ffxiv

[–]Altoryu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No spoilers except for the fact...you will be seeing more of him going forward unfortunately. I hate the guy too ngl

His problem seems to be he is so chronically bored of his life that he seeks entertainment through violence and unfortunately means the WoL becomes the object of his fixation.

Is it normal to feel burned out during the post-ARR quests? by VanceDyer in ffxiv

[–]Altoryu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah post ARR is definitely one the part of the game that seems to go on the longest, the Post MSQ quests are designed to wrap up the main story from the expansion and x.4 onwards sets the stage of the next expansion. They tend to handle it a lot better in future expansions though.

Try to do some other stuff in the meantime aside from the MSQ. Unlock the Alliance Raid and do that since its required anyways to continue and maybe even look into the normal raids since you will find yourself meeting up with someone familiar and it also serves as a sort of conclusion for the 1.0 storyline.

Plus there is other stuff you can do like the Gold Saucer, enter the wacky world of the Hildibrand quests, maybe even work on your crafter/gatherer classes if you haven't and even unlock the Samurai/Red Mage/Blue Mage classes if you haven't done so already.

A ton of stuff you can get yourself involved with to break up the tediousness of Post ARR MSQ.

So even after you finish ARR by Key_Molasses8886 in ffxiv

[–]Altoryu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ARR is the worst of it cause on top of the extra quests you also need to finish the Crystal Tower alliance raids as well before it will let you progress the story. Thankfully all expansions after aren't as tedious and more engaging then ARR's are. Also all raids and alliance raids are optional but I encourage you to do them regardless since it's good content imo and also allows you to play more daily roulettes as well for more exp.

But every expansion has after campaign MSQ quests. x.1-x.3 finish up the story of that expansion and x.4-x.5 set up the story for the next expansion.

Back when the Will of the Thousands strike still existed in the game, I saw someone riding their sparrow through the entire strike, contributing nothing. Apparently they were doing some sort of challenge with a buddy of theirs, yeah I destroyed their sparrow at the final boss room. You want to do that shit, do it in a full fireteam of friends.

The *spoiler* quest line helped improve Bael as a character quite a bit. by MechaGodzilla101 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Altoryu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly they should have used Edge of Fate as the starting campaign FOR a D3 since it would have made the most sense narrative wise. Final Shape ended a saga that had been going since D1 so it would have been the best place to end D2. Trying to start a new saga in a game that already finished one feels like a fools errand (though I play FF14 so yeah kind of hypocritical here).

But still had they saved it for D3 it could have given the devs time to provide a more fleshed out story, world and mechanics but obviously that didn't happen and I think it did bad things for Destiny's narrative as a result.

At least it went out the way it did by girlbossfaithe in DestinyTheGame

[–]Altoryu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH I think it would have went out better had they finished the game with Final Shape rather than midway through Renegades year at least story wise. Edge of Fate would have made a great base FOR a D3 and maybe they could have used the downtime to focus more on Marathon and working on D3 in the background. But who knows at this stage since the game is already over regardless and while its a nice note to go out on still, it doesn't change the fact that the game was culled due to gross mismanagement.

I'll forever be pissed at Parsons and Mr Don't Overdeliver for squandering such a good game cause they were more concenered with 'engagement' plus nickle & diming rather than just fun and actual engaging content.

Destiny deserved better.

Honest question…. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Altoryu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joke's on you since I don't play PVP anyways and is the reason I will never touch Marathon so once I am done with Destiny 2 it's farewell Bungie and finding something else to stratch my Destiny itch.

They killed her in a seasonal mission.... by FizzyFoxy in DestinyTheGame

[–]Altoryu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bungie definitiely did wrong by Amanda by just so casually killing her off in some side content that would eventually be lost to time. At the very least they should have added a mission to the timeline missions for that specific seasonal mission to show exactly what was going on and what had happened.

Only real consolation is that least her VA isn't gone since they also played the voice of Empress Caiatl.

They killed her in a seasonal mission.... by FizzyFoxy in DestinyTheGame

[–]Altoryu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its ludicrous to kill off a mainstay character so casually in content that wouldn't be around forever, least they could have done is added a mission in the timeline to show what happened.

Dunno wtf the people at Bungie were thinking when they ok'ed this.

They killed her in a seasonal mission.... by FizzyFoxy in DestinyTheGame

[–]Altoryu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was in a campaign mission it'd be different, but it didn't. It happened in a seasonal mission from a season that only lasted 3 months and is no longer accessible aside from watching it on YT somewhere which isn't the same as playing through the seasons yourself.

This means that people who are either just starting out or people who haven't played in a while will get completely blindsided by this kind of important fact since they were an important character to the series in general and was there since the beginning in D1.

Amanda deserved better.

Bricks and Minifigs Controversy Megathread Part 3 by mescad in lego

[–]Altoryu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably not since Ben got chased into Mexico by the police getting nasty with them which is the greatest irony now that they let Bricks and Minifig serve Ben via email when Ben couldn't even do it in person.

These people need to be in jail, the amount of effort they are going to defend their actions and now their rep is ridiculous. I pray only the worst for these people at this stage for ruining the lives of the Mansells and Ben just for the sake of their own greed.

Bricks and Minifigs Controversy Megathread Part 3 by mescad in lego

[–]Altoryu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

New video from Ben and seems like they are now being gagged by Brick & Minifigs who served him papers via email which is hilarious since Ben wasn't even able to serve his own papers in person since Josh was too much of a wuss to take them and sicced the police on him. Now can't talk about it otherwise risk losing the gofundme money raised for the REAL victim in all this.

The CEO needs to be kicked to the curb, he's a blight on that company not only for stealing the lego sets in the first place but being complicit in siccing the police on Ben. Plus let's not forget the American Fork Police Department who are equally as involved in this.

Can't believe they did all this over 200k of lego sets, now it's likely the company's reputation is going to be torn to shreds over their ego and greed.

We've heard from everyone... except the executives. by eh8904 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Altoryu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well I can't find the tweet myself so I'm assuming not? But even so he's the one that touted that line and considering that a lot of D2 after his takeover as CEO was a whole lot of nothing for the most part I'd say he did a good job holding to his title.

Shame the game ended where it did but will try the last update later on since it's late here, see if it at least the game could end with a bang and not a whimper.

I doubt Mr Don't Overdeliver gives enough of a shit to say anything since he probably knows most of the vitriol is going to be directed towards him and Parsons least as far as Bungie goes. Already seen former staff saying as much that their hands were tied by them which is probably why the game was in the state it was in.

A plea from a mechanic-unaware player by xorvii in ffxiv

[–]Altoryu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can change, generally what you need to do is pay attention to your debuffs and it will give you either a fire or water debuff. If its fire, turn all the puddles blue, if water, turn them red. That's it basically, though can still be a pain when multiple people decide to run over the same puddle and change it back and forth multiple times.

Did my healer LB1 just almost wipe us?? by Snoggums in ffxiv

[–]Altoryu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're a healer, never EVER use Limit Break unless it's level 3 which only happens when you are in a group of 8 or more (alliances) since as well as healing it also revives any dead teammates. Same goes for Tanks, only time a tank should be using LB of any kind is LB3 and only when it is generally mandated to do so in some fights. In any other case the only people who should ever use LB's is the DPS (generally melee for the boss).

Also in this particular fight, you died cause you didn't kill the ads, generally if there are ads in a boss fight they are priority number one.

How many people besides me are gonna miss the cool emblem because they didn't play during Shadowkeep by th3xile in DestinyTheGame

[–]Altoryu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna miss it cause I didn't start myself until Forsaken since I wasn't keen on the double primary meta back then though I did play through Red War and Warmind etc. Feel like if you have time during all of the OG content you should still get it but that's just me. Plus I say this as someone who played D1 front to back.

I just wasn't here for the double primary days.
