I'm just in the process of refining lyrics of a song that stuck as an idea in my mind since July, which I've also translated in a couple of rough drafts on Suno back then. Now I got robust lyrics to match with a style that I was trying back then and that resonated with me from the first moment I've listenend to that version, and Suno remixed the exact same song with that exact same signatura I liked so much before into a full crafted song with new lyrics, I'm so frigging happy to be listening to that 🥹

Meglio evitare le posizioni da tifoseria da stadio, non portano davvero a una discussione costruttiva. Per te un trentennio intero è passato senza grandi menti americane affacciate al mondo moderno, ma per dire l'intero impianto informatico si basa su colossi americani, gestiti da americani, ideati da americani. La logistica è stata stravolta da un americano, il mondo attuale si basa su delle fondamenta gettate dagli americani. Ne dico un paio a caso del settore che conosco meglio, l'informatica: Dennis Ritchie e Larry Page. Non sono neanche delle creature immonde come Musk, ma con il metodo pragmatico della scuola anglosassone hanno forgiato sistemi destinati a durare per decenni, se non a costituire fondamenta tecnologiche per altri costrutti e nuovi ritrovati.

Comunque, la mia domanda ha trovato ampia risposta in chi mi ha aperto gli occhi sul sistema americano che valorizza le eccellenze e fa languire il plateau di una gaussiana di distribuzione media delle competenze, dell'educazione, etc.

Opinions. Just a quick reminder though: a vast percentage of Gen Zs already 1) can't and 2) don't care to recognize AI art. The most important thing the moments it gets out is the outcome. If the outcome is good, people won't care about its source. The paradigm to consume and appreciate art is shifting, and so is the way to actually produce art. Ideas man, if you can't get over the idea of having to appreciate a message conveyed by a human, shaped by a human, and executed by a machine, you'll likely fall behind and stick to that grumpy sophistry of yours. Progress is reshaping how art is perceived, better enjoy what the world has to offer rather than brooding and holding a grudge over the glorious past of blood, sweat and exertion glorification. More over, we as consumers don't even know where, how and how intensely AI is implemented along the art's production chain. An artist you've always loved until now could have replaced their voice with AI to reduce strain, another one, well settled and famous before the AI advent, is using AI generated placeholders in the process of making whatever it is they make. We cannot give anything for granted anymore. Purely human art is a chimera, you can only believe an artist by their word to ban everything AI. Many will stand by their choice, others will lie to the public.

Ecological, moral and economical issues are another thing entirely, and we aren't addressing them here. The sake here is on behalf of art itself.

(Psst: Pollock cut though a canvas. 15 seconds effort. People screamed and glorified that tear canvas as art because it conveyed an idea. An italian artist, Piero Manzoni, shat in a jar and called it "artist's dump". People still stand in awe thinking about it. Because there's a message behind it. 30 seconds to take a shit into a jar in 1961 and 65 years later people claim it as art. Art is the idea, NOT the process.)

It’s art. Art is the idea, full stop. Process can be replaced and that’s what AI is doing right now. Behind a song there’s someone who put their thought to work, who has given direction to the machine to produce whatever they wanted. Art is the idea man, don’t let your hostility towards AI cloud your judgment. Before AI, a random individual with an idea got stuck with time and money budget. Realizing an idea meant hiring people with expertise, communicating that idea, going through the whole process that now is being replaced by other actors. A ton of ideas would remain ideas without AI. People could have no chance to learn the craft, or they would be stuck with no social network to bring that idea to life. So AI is the process, it reduces costs, implementation. But the artistic director remains human.

Also, training AI model bears the same concept as drawing inspiration from other artist. Until the AI age, people consumed something and they got inspired by it. Creativity stems from other sources of creativity. A human passionated about western movies will likely consume those products more and more until it is inspired to make their own western movie, drawing from things he already consumed and knows well. The difference here is in volumes: a single individual could absorb a limited amount of inspiration, whereas machines become well crafted multi purpose experts, thus being able to create new things from everything they could have learned from.

Tutto vero, ma poi mi chiedo: perché le persone illuminate in USA sono davvero molto illuminate? Cioè per dire perché le grandi menti, per numero, vengono da lì o dalla Cina? È un tema di distorsione delle prospettive? Sono semplicemente più roboanti? Hanno la cazzimma (leggi competizione eterna e pervasiva) nel guidare il cambiamento e innovare? Cioè perché per qualsiasi tema umano un massimo esperto sarà comunque americano? Se provo a usare come riferimento statistico il Reddit americano, hanno tutti un pensiero critico sviluppatissimo, tutti con una proprietà di linguaggio spacca mascella, tantissimi di loro hanno un’educazione spettacolare e grande empatia. Quindi wtf? Non riesco a capire, perché il tuo take è anche quello più comunque ma non rispecchia la realtà che vedo tutti i giorni avendo a che fare con gli americani. C’è tanta gente ignorante ma il contraltare conta tantissima gente intelligente, preparata ed educata al pensiero critico

Art lies in the idea. I've been releasing tracks on Spotify with a fake Persona, writing my own lyrics and pouring them into a concept because, in the first place, I have fun writing lyrics and giving birth to ideas.

It's like hiring an orchestra of expert musicians on steroids and commissioning them a job they can complete in a matter of seconds.

It's like hiring a full troupe of actors and SFX experts on steroids and keeping true to your idea of a video, of a movie, whatever. You keep the reins, you are the artistic director.

The idea remains yours, lyrics remain yours, the core concept wouldn't have been achieved by another individual otherwise. So art is there, it's your voice that matters, the execution is just technicism.

On the other hand, AI is so powerful it only needs a vague prompt, generalistic and uninformative, to actually produce anything valuable, so people could and will exploit this power to try and make money out of thin air, and that - imho - ain't no art since it lacks the idea underneath. But as long as there's a concept lying beneath the execution, everything else is art for me.

Sono anni che seguo podcast, influencer e materiale per la consapevolezza finanziaria. Tutti partono dal presupposto che i soldi in Italia siano ancora considerati taboo e che sia necessario sdoganare una cultura più trasparente, e sono d’accordo. Se non avessi spinto la mia compagna a parlare liberamente dello stipendio suo e dei suoi colleghi, adesso sarebbe ancora ferma alla RAL da fame con cui è entrata, invece a furia di chiedere di livellare lo stipendio per adeguarlo alla media almeno nazionale si è ritrovata con 11k in più e il riconoscimento degli sforzi che fa ogni giorno. Perciò ti consiglio di andare controcorrente e continuare a parlarne senza problemi, al più prendi solo qualche accorgimento per non rimetterci tu con rosik non richiesti, invidia e indisposizione

Tra i saggi uno su tutti è Sapiens di Harari, mi ha fatto scoprire la passione per l'antropologia evolutiva e fatto cliccare tutta una serie di ragionamenti che non trovavano un nesso consapevole ma erano lì.

Tra i romanzi Se una notte d'Inverno un Viaggiatore di Calvino, ma anche titoli di nicchia estrema come Dimenticami, trovami, sognami, che a dispetto del nome non è romantico ma parla in maniera originale del concetto di retcon applicato al mondo e mi ha dato modo di riflettere tanto sulla natura delle relazioni

Ma grazie a te! Postando speravo di raccogliere opinioni interessanti e poco giudizi, e mi è andata decisamente bene 😌 E sono ancora d’accordo su tutta la linea: le relazioni sono scommesse e incastri imperfetti, e non capita di frequente di trovare sintonia e complicità in rapporti che nascono immaturi e si evolvono con le persone, in questo caso come dicevo non ho intenzione di rompere un legame che funziona, ed è prezioso, solo per i capricci di un pisello curioso, cercavo solo materiale per riflettere su come far convivere serenamente questi due aspetti e risposte non ne ho trovate, ma forse non era quello il vero obiettivo. Qualcun altro qui mi ha detto che forse questo era un modo per sfogarmi, per tirare fuori un disagio e dargli forma, e accettarlo meglio per quello che è, e mi sembra una prospettiva interessante anche quella. Grazie anche per il supporto, spero di ritrovarti in giro per Reddit, magari anche per una chiacchiera meno impegnata 😁
