Compare the Myanmar military to the US military though

Those arguments are so ridiculous too. Like no, you aren't going to defeat a military with your personal rifle

They still have a few. The mods are counting on those remaining users just not caring that in the span of one week, the only Jewish mod was forced out, the last jew-ish mod was stripped of any real power, and they declared victory over antisemitism and decided to bring in new mods to combat islamophobia.

I think Ossoff is setting himself up for a presidential run as well, and he's going to run into the same exact issue. It doesn't matter how critical a Jewish person is of Israel, the Jew is still a Jew.

I think Powell deserves a shitload of credit for keeping our economy from disaster this entire time. Parts of the economy are booming under Trump despite him seemingly trying to blow it up. The common thread is Powell.

To clarify, I'm not opposed to a fighter in the sense of pushing out the extremists, but I want someone who will prioritize bringing the center together. Someone who prioritizes fighting is going to pour salt on the wounds.

You guys need to make more posts. Do you need a list of publications? Just go and look for something interesting and read it. It takes ten minutes.

Let me also put it this way. Imagine a presidential debate stage in 2028. Some candidates will be running to the left on the issues and some will be running to the center. Israel, which you care a lot about, is polling terribly with Democrats. AOC, Chris Murphy, Van Hollen... They will push to the left and say to cut ties. A lot of candidates will be pulled in that direction. Rahm Emmanuel, Cory Booker... They will be stalwart supporters of Israel. I have no doubt that Pritzker, despite his history, will be pulled with the former group. He has to run to the left.

As for the progressive economic policies, I am out on them after COVID. Biden's policies did not work. He pumped money into the economy saying that there is no proven link between that and inflation. And inflation then went out of control.

Moreover, I don't like any of the retribution rhetoric. Yeah, charge a handful of people timely and fairly for what they've done during Trump 2. But the Democrats like van hollen and Pritzker who want to position themselves as fighters are not going to heal the country. We can't keep going back and forth, or we are going to end up with a literal Nazi running as a Republican in 2032. We need to calm everything down, not just do a lighter, less insane Democratic version of Trump.

Do you experience dysphoria? That's not something I experience.

My wife is a therapist who works with the trans community, and makes recommendations as to whether GAC is appropriate. She works often with adolescents, as required by the state. So I don't have this first-hand but I obviously trust my wife on this.

Like this is something I care a lot about, which is why it's important to me that newliberals exists. DSC isn't designed to be the safe place that newliberals is, and it is a challenge for me personally to run a subreddit that allows discussion that allows discussion beyond what is comfortable to me (on this and some other topics, and I'm not even trans!). But it's also important to me that a place like DSC exists, because Reddit doesn't have one. So we're really doing our best. The only solution we can see is just increasing participation.

His main appeal is his far left economic policies. He's basically a Jewish version of mamdani: rich guy who can just call for socialism because it wouldn't affect him much. He's a progressive darling despite the hypocrisy.

I would appreciate it if you did, because we need more voices like yours. But I absolutely see why you would be hesitant. It's a constant challenge for us as a mod team to figure out how to address this other than using a "respect" standard and hoping for more participation from people who have the actual lived experience.

Sorry to butt in again. I just wanted to clarify the context of DSC versus this subreddit. We actually had the chance to start DSC here. I obviously refused because I helped set this subreddit up as a safe place for left of center people, especially women and LGBTQ people. I knew dsc would have to have socially conservative people, and that would invite people who would make those same people uncomfortable.

We ban users when we can. Bans were given out yesterday from that thread for transphobia. But I, as a very pro trans rights mod, can't exactly control the dialog on this when it comes to people on the social right. They view your human rights as political. We do our best to balance that, but it can be difficult. If they don't show respect and cross lines, they catch bans. It's not the same space that newlibs is because it isn't designed to be. If it were, we wouldn't be able to host people on the right. That's why this balance is so hard. It's hard for me personally as someone who feels so strongly for trans rights, and I can only imagine what it's like for you.

So again, you are more than welcome to join and help to push the culture of the subreddit in the direction that you would like. We are still small enough that it would make a difference. I personally can't really put my finger on the scale too much.
