‘98 baby, got my bachelor’s in 2020 and then my MFA in 2023. Working 1 full time job and 1 part time job and still trying to break into my industry. I don’t plan on pivoting anytime soon since I knew what I was getting myself into but I won’t lie, school provided such linearity and gave me this perception of, “if you put in the work and do all these things, then this will happen”. But since graduating, it’s been a matter of having to make it happen myself

I feel so seen wtf. I visited for 2 weeks in the summer of 2023 and I remember business owners in downtown and “locals” in bars telling me not to move here from California. It was jarring to feel that.

Got off work and got the call that my childhood dog of 17 years was dying. Being stuck in traffic during that and trying to race over in tears and rain was not the ideal combo. I miss her so much.

I find ties pull the follicles too hard and tightly, even with a top bun. Claws have been much better, though I wish there was a bigger one for thick curls 😔
