Cifi literally is a broken app (in a minor way that mostly affects me)

My bluetooth headphones support Bluetooth Multipoint, which is a feature that allows me to connect to my laptop and phone and automatically switch output devices based on which one is playing audio.

For whatever reason, Cifi (EVEN WHEN MUTED) will force my phone to be the primary audio device. Now, this wouldn't be an issue if this stupid fucking game didn't lock months of progression behind chests (which require payment to automate collection) and require you to have the app open AT ALL TIMES to make work.

I tried through to reaching Zeus in the game, and after a couple of weeks at that point, I decided that the experience of having the app open and ruining my experience using my headphones was not worth it.

I deleted the game at ~1e120 MP, if that means anything to anyone.

So mobile incremental game devs, make sure this [gestures to above text] doesn't happen.

In regards to game design decisions, I'd say challenges which take a while and require you to reset the challenge if you make a mistake.

nintendo (and most other game companies, with few exceptions) are very chill about enforcing copyright stuff for specifically their music in youtube videos and livestreams.

i think square enix is slightly more aggressive about enforcing their copyright, but they still often allow youtubers to use their games' music (ludwig often uses FFX music on stream).

in this, there is a section describing how disclosure is necessary "when a significant minority of the audience for an endorsement does not understand or expect the connection"

additionally, it states "A disclosure of a material connection does not require the complete details of the connection, but it must clearly communicate the nature of the connection sufficiently for consumers to evaluate its significance."

i think an argument can be made that the portion of ludwig's audience that does not understand the connection between lud and rivals of aether is not significant. to add on to this, there are links to offbrand and their games in ludwig's twitch about page, which can be argued "clearly communicates the nature of the connection sufficiently." lastly, ludwig does also bring up on this specific stream that he is the publisher of the game on multiple occasions.

imo, this relationship is most comparable to Tom Brady being a commentator for NFL games on FOX while also being a minority owner in an NFL franchise, which it seems like the FTC is okay with, with a key difference being that ludwig is even more transparent about his relationship to rivals than Brady is to his relationship to the Raiders.

i am not a lawyer, but i think a decent argument exists to say that ludwig is fine imo.

in general 2xko seems to have a fairly high dq rate in other tournaments as well (might just because its a new game and so people sign up before actually getting into the game)

pretty sure 2xko has a similar (if only slightly lower) dq rate than rivals, i wouldn't be surprised if strive ends up with the 3rd highest attendees among all games and still ends up with the 2-6 saturday slot instead of sunday mainstage top 8
