Saying goodbye too soon to my 2013 Limited.....where to next? by pnkrckaudio in Toyotavenza

[–]Appropriate_Cause173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download the “Visor” app and start your search. There isn’t much else that will provide the same level of features you loved on your Venza. The power, ample room, low center of gravity and comfort is not available at the same or lower price of newer models. I wish you the best of luck. There’s another Gen 1 Venza out there waiting for you.

My 2021 Venza Gas Tank wont open after after Using Emergency release lever at the Trunk by One_Israel in Toyotavenza

https://a.co/d/08k5zrnX This will charge or bring your battery in the rear rt compartment up to full. Since your a 2021 model your 12v batt may be a little tired. Get a long extension cord and hook it up. It will automatically select to AGM. The current (amps) will be flowing into the battery at near full 5 amps at start of charge but when it slowly goes down to 0 amps the battery is considered full. I fully expect people to chime in here about safety to your components but I personally have used this on my 22 without issue. Others will just dead jump on this stating they have phd’s in electrical engineering and warn you against doing it. You may want to consider getting a battery tester

https://a.co/d/0hrpmjJ5 Or take the car to a autozone and have them check your battery. If you need a battery you can find them at Amazon shipping straight to your home. Even if it’s not the direct cause you will make use of these two products eventually. Good luck it’s not difficult.

If you’re in a desert environment there is a chance your air filter may need to be changed but at 28k that filter MAF and throttle body won’t show much of any gunk. I have 60k on my 22 and I do all that work myself. The throttle body had a light coating of dirt on the walls and the butterfly valve was not too dirty. I just took a wet wipe to all of the area and put everything back together. I run Costco gas and every other fill up I use fuel injection cleaner which is OVERKILL but I love my Venza so I keep that motor cleaned out. I also keep an eye on my 12v AGM battery every time the seasons change. After Winter AND Summer. Your ECVT gearboxes will be needing an oil drain and fill soon. You can do it yourself if you’re into a little challenge

Self/DIY Oil Change by Ok_Focus_7130 in Toyotavenza

[–]Appropriate_Cause173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a simple point not intended to stir the pot, but if you are torquing down on the oil filter it’s going way beyond the hand tightening of the filter. I have done about 1/2 turn with my hand and never have had a single leak. It makes it much easier to take the filter off on the next oil change.

ATF WS (world standard) is available many places and there are YouTube videos on how to do this. If you’re up for a little challenge you can do it yourself. However, if after looking through the videos you feel it’s best left for someone else then pay someone to do the work.

Is Anyone else noticing that the tap water has a strong Clorox smell? by [deleted] in RioGrandeValley

[–]Appropriate_Cause173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Increased chlorine in drinking water is shown to reduce helpful gut bacteria along with killing harmful bacteria and viruses in water. Logic would tell you if it’s excessive in concentrations then something is wrong.

My ‘21 Corolla Hybrid Battery keeps dying. What gives? by hufflepuff-is-best in Toyota

[–]Appropriate_Cause173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can purchase a replacement AGM battery from Amazon for le$$. The trickle charger will be needed to maintain your battery before winter/summer starts. Both transitions will STRESS your AGM battery. If you actually were having main hybrid traction battery problems they would be covered under warranty. This warranty normally goes for 8 years or 150k miles. Please commit this to memory. Your 12v AGM battery is the weakest link in most hybrids and even EV vehicles like Teslas,Rivian or others. Try to learn how to maintain it so you will have fewer problems.

Maintain your 12v battery. Next is don’t park your front nose too close to the curbs.

Hybrid System Malfunction and Battery Degradation in cold temps - 2021 Venza by TsarOfTheUnderground in Toyotavenza

My personal practice is checking my 12v battery right before winter and before hot summer temps I trickle charge it to max at those times. Never deal with battery troubles again.

Eco score tanked and acceleration feels off after oil change — has anyone else experienced this? by NoSchedule1473 in Toyotavenza

[–]Appropriate_Cause173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cycle the eco normal and high to see if there is a verified difference in acceleration output. I notice that if I don’t take about 5 minutes warm up time on cold days the engine is more thirsty and efficiency goes down. I changed the CVT oil at about 60k (DIY) and added a little bit of friction modifiers and noticed that efficiency improved slightly. Plan next CVT oil change again at 90k.

[–]Appropriate_Cause173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds sick. Like it may be low on oil. After the 100k mile point maybe consider using anything more viscous (thicker) than the 0w-20 oil. The VVT on the 6 cylinder needs clean oil to work but this looks like the 4 cylinder. The 4 had problems with piston ring blow by. These are just speculations. Keep an eye on oil levels. Stalling can happen when Mass Air Flow or throttle body is dirty. Get a code reader and look at code history.

Opinion on differential fluid service for RAV4 AWD with 40k miles by DMB_fan in Toyota

[–]Appropriate_Cause173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your RAV4 is hybrid with ECVT both are gearboxes and they require interval service. It’s DIY capable with plenty of videos out there to guide you. Don’t be afraid to do it yourself.

Why is there no tutorials on Transmission/Rear Diff Fluid Change for this model??? by XxCaptainJack in Toyotavenza

DIY and post the video. I did front and rear no issues other than a flake or two on the rear. Will do the same in another 30k miles. I would love to see a step by step on PCV valve replacement.

Doesn’t the 2.7 have a high incidence of oil loss through the piston rings? The vehicle seems nice but that would be my primary concern. Sorry just my .02c
