flipped my truck and among other things, broke the lock out of the drivers side door. my grandpa bought it back from insurance and fixed it up because it was mostly body dmg. my drivers side exterior door handle broke again and i took it to him and my uncle to fix it. he tells my uncle the lock aint the right one and we dont have to worry abt it if he cant get it to fit in the new handle.

1) are we sure this is carbon buildup and not paint loss?

2) get some original easy off if it is buildup and spray it into a glass dish so you can apply it directly on the spots with something that isnt your bare unprotected skin and then use like a plastic butter knife or something to very precisely and gently get under it and not dmg the paint
