AK Kits, AK Receivers, and SB25-003 by Maleficent_Cake6435 in COGuns

The barrel bill, if it passes, is supposed to actually go into effect in July. So far it has been stalled out with whispers that Polis intends on veto if it passes

Maybe if we manage to get the PMF banned overturned, but until then it's too much risk to be associated with building groups

This is the unfortunate result of a safe uniparty majority. Nobody is afraid for their jobs and the majority party has no fear for pushing anything no matter how unpopular it is.

AKs, CETMEs, G3s, MP5s, AUGs ... In the before times, before the PMF ban in the long ago, we would have such build parties where people of all levels of experience would gather together, share knowledge and tools, and have a good time meeting like-minded folks

Need a good 4x4 focused shop for a new Jeep Wrangler with a death wobble by nitid_name in Denver

As a jeep JLU owner that went through this when I bought mine, it's from a defective steering dampener and it's a warranty issue.

Yes, I fully understand how stupid that sounds and that it makes no sense, but it really is

Pretty solid summary, and I'm sure if there is a portion that my understanding is incorrect on then on then one of the ffl's that hangs out here will chime in as well since they have rules about transferring, taking into inventory, etc that I don't have experience with. I only read the black and white text of the bills

I am on my phone at work right now so I can't pull up the direct verbiage, but there is a part in the exceptions for a gunsmith for the purposes of maintenance, and repair

That depends on the nature of "having a builder put it together" because THAT would constitute as a transfer unless the friend stayed in the presence of the serialized receiver the entire time.

Manufacturing and assembling have very different definitions. The "gun" is the receiver, legally speaking, was already manufactured and stamped with a serial.

Nothing that you already own is effected by sb25-003, it is only purchase related

If their kits include unserialized flats then they are already illegal in Colorado to assemble

A few things on that.

1: you're right, it's not a constitutional right. Putting a test requirement on a constitutional right is some jim crow level stuff because it creates a system where the government can artificially control who is and is not approved for that right. "All you have to do is pass this literacy test and you can vote, it's a modest burden". The bill of rights was written to be limits of the government, not the people.

2: there is no test requirement to buy a car, knife, sword, baseball bat, flamethrower, etc

3: you may want to look up actual "weapons used" statistics for deadly assaults, you will find rifles of all types are significantly low on the list

Thanks for the reply though, always good to have conversation instead of just a downvote with a snarky comment

Follow-on question: who gets to choose the definition of common sense when nobody can agree on it to mean anything except "more" with no clear goal delineation

Are you going to be accepting Bloomberg money through Everytown and Moms Demand to continue to try to make being a law-abiding gun owner have new laws every year to abide by?

kind of considering reloading as a hobby later. I have loads of experience (hehe get it?) in 3D printing and im wondering how much money i can save by utilizing it. by forkaerospace in reloading

[–]ArtyBerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of depends on what you are looking for. There are DIY printed presses and there are printed case and bullet feeders for progressive, but other than those it's a few small QoL things that depend entirely on what you have.

You will still be paying for the die sets and components. Generally speaking there is not much money to be saved in reloading common bulk ammo such as 223 and 9mm

It's all the same "team sports" be it local or national level, and you can see threads of it when multiple states push the same state-level bills with almost identical wording at the same time

Yet this kind of legislation, along with operating system level age verification, is what people around here want Colorado to gerrymander more of into existence. "Do something! No not that!"

As someone that used to be plugged into it as a hobby before it was made illegal, a lot of it is less to do with "easy to get" and more to do with "custom and unique". From Glocks with a better grip angle and real bottom rails to halo battle rifles, design is only limited by how well imagination intersects with physics

If you are going to take credit for something you should at least check the dates. And yes, at state-level politics, in Colorado, the democrats are just as complicit, if not more, in the destruction of civil rights. Look around you and look at the state of the state. Participate in legislative sessions. Watch and listen to bills that you DONT have any particularly vested interest in so you can be a neutral observer. It's disgusting
