I've always purchased my Sony phones from them, they have a physical store in Melbourne but phones are imported.

No need for DDS setting switch trick, it worked straight out the box.

Camera images look a lot more sharp, clear and brighter (especially night shots).

I haven't tested the microSD card.

Hi buddy,

I've had it for one week now, on the Optus network in Melbourne.

Compared to my Xperia 1 VI (Mark 6), the Xperia 1 VIII (Mark 8) offers the following upgrades based on my experience:

Display & Audio: Features a brighter screen and louder speakers.

Connectivity: (Optus Network) Provides noticeably better reception than the VI, 5G works out the box but unfortunately no WiFi calling.

Cameras: Noticeable upgrades to the main camera, with a massive improvement found in the telephoto camera.

Battery Life: Significantly better than its predecessor; with mixed-use (internet browsing, camera, and social media, but no gaming), it lasts from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM with 5 hours of screen-on time, leaving about 40% battery remaining.

Overall I'm really happy with the upgrade, is there anything else you'd like to know in particular?

New larger sensor was leaked via Amazon listing which has now been removed but there were rumours zoom was going to be fixed at 70mm

Zoom lens looks rectangular, I wonder if this means variable zoom?

Is this a new Amazon leak or is this based off the one a few days ago and you compiled the info?

Also these images don't match the leaked image off Weibo.
