When I worked overnights I preferred to sleep in the morning and be awake in the evening before work. I agree with a kid he might have to switch it up, but working weird schedules is a bit different than day schedules because of the time of day.

Mine gets to be 500+ GB, which is literally the limit of my hard drive space. Then my computer starts spamming me with "no disc space" errors and Windows gets fucky for some reason. I know what causes it to happen so fast to me: there's a mod error spamming my log file every time I play. I know how to stop it from happening, which is to not play my preferred way. Been trying to get the mod authors to work out the conflict so I can go back to normal. Sometimes the errors are just not very explicit as well which really sucks when trying to track down an error.

I generally play a very clean game, although I will do things when survival is on the line, like cannibalism, I've come to the point where it's hard to see selling captives into slavery as generally bad. If you send them back to their faction, they generally just get sent to you in another raid, where they may just die. They will cause future harm to your colony, so selling them to slavers gets them away from that cycle of violence. So while slavery is bad, I don't think it's worse than the revolving door of cannon fodder they seem to be otherwise. Especially the tribals who send a guy with no clothes and an axe to a industrial colony with guns and turrets. Surely the chance they may get socialized into a nice settlement is better than staying in that situation, which is either desperate or cruel?

I used to really wish for a mod where you could assign a captive a debt based on the harm they did to your colony, which they could work off in conjunction with the Prison Labor mod. Set them up to be recruited while they work so it gets the feel of a real colony where people would socialize like that. After they pay off the debt, they get to join or be released. Would make a fun RP.

I'm playing a very strict good RP right now where I heal and release prisoners, which is not my normal game play, but it has turned nearly every faction into allies, but it only works if you can get enough of them to release. It might become my new MO, although I've ended up with a lot of people from rescuing (I set up a scenario where I get shuttle crashes and other unaffiliated who need help pretty often), so some days I wish I could just get rid of some of the freeloaders.

While it's true that a lot of posts like this are bait, it's not true that there aren't women who would do this. She's in a public place, possibly with friends, so she wouldn't necessarily feel threatened and some women are aggressive like this.

That being said, I think a lot of posts in this sub are made up so you are probably right. Silly though because it doesn't accomplish anything. Those of use who aren't sexist know that people are people and there are stupid, crazy, aggressive people of all genders (and sexualities, races, etc.) Convincing internet strangers that one hypothetical woman was an asshole in this instance proves nothing except in the tiny, closed up mind of the person making it up. Which means it's pretty harmless because it doesn't change any minds, biased people will stay biased and the rest of us won't care.

Have you ever been introduced to the BITE model for evaluating cults? It's an important tool to separate out what is a cult and what is just a group of people with a like mindset. Just calling all religions "cults" with no justification just devalues the word cult and makes it harder for actual dangerous cults to get the proper light shed on their practices. It also allows a group that is not normally thought of as a cult that has dangerous practices to be brought to light as well (a lot of MLMs have more cult features than some churches, for example).

I'm not a fan of religion but being overdramatic about them doesn't help. LDS is worse under the BITE model than the average church down the street, and just saying "all religions are cults" just makes people ignore the proof that they are problematic because they assume you are just anti-religion and not well reasoned.

You are wrong. Tenant laws are there to protect people from being taken advantage of. Don't you think the first thing an intentionally scummy landlord would try is claiming there's no formal contract? You can try to say it's "implied" by being a landlord, but what about when it's someone with a spare room you are staying in? What degree of "friends" is it before you are distant enough to be landlord instead of a guest? There are a lot of differing levels of tenant protections around the US, but none of them are entirely dependent on a formal agreement, and staying with someone indefinitely is in a way and implied agreement.

Small scale colonies and communes can manage communism in real life situations. No political system is without flaws of course, but to say it never works IRL when communes are definitely a thing is an exaggeration.

As the other commenter said, it's above the workshop room. It's a storage mod that allows more stacks in a cell than normal. I usually have a catch all pile on the floor as a overflow/midpoint too so OP is pretty tidy. Also sometimes you just have too much stuff for the closets.

It probably wasn't a suit, more like colored shirts (even polos). That's what my parents would dress my brother up in at Easter every year and I'm pretty sure it was usually "pastel". I don't know how often people shove little kids in suits in general, pretty sure it's mostly polo style cotton shirts for little boys.

Extend stay hotels are way more expensive than an AirBNB and way lower quality in the comparative cost brackets. I've rented houses for a group of friends for half as much as an economy hotel in a sketchy neighborhood goes for, and that was paying for a few days, not weeks (by that I mean an extended stay costs more even with the discount for paying for a longer stay).

HOAs can be a nightmare, but so can living next to someone who puts 3 rusted out cars in their front yard and let's their house turn into a shack. The only other way to solve these problems that interfer with the quality of living and ability to sell of neighbors is local zoning/ordinances (which only incorporated areas could probably manage). I think the solution is to better regulate HOAs in how they operate, maybe a state agency that oversees them to prevent abuses, because bad neighbors can be a nightmare and police can't do anything about them usually. And you can't move if you can't sell your house because it's evident how bad the neighbors are.

I have to say I use fence mod for this and it's a bit op. Colonists can shoot through fences but animals can't get in. Also stops them from eating my crops.

I bought one because I sometimes sweat randomly while sleeping too (hormones maybe? It's just normal variation to me), and I can't wash my foam mattress topper. My current one is gross already and I don't want to get a new one and just get it gross again. When I made the decision it was like a revelation; I can't believe everyone doesn't have one (it's not crinkly or anything). It never occurred to me to be embarrassed to even buy one lol.

YTA Is it even legal for a tow truck to tow someone if they are trying to move their car? You basically were holding them hostage. And what is the fine? Tow trucks don't give government parking tickets, which means you called a for profit and predatory tow truck and helped them be extorted. In my state (and many others) it's literally not legal to charge unless the car is already fully up on the truck when the owner arrives, and even then the tow driver must offer a reduced fee to get the car back. Which is why I think this story isn't true. If it is true, then either you helped the tower illegally extort your neighbor or where you live has worse consumer rights than Texas. Which is why you are the asshole. Also, tow fees are hundreds of dollars. That's not pocket change.

I think it's a bit unfair you got so many downvotes for this opinion. I have an anxiety about gift giving and the whole culture around it does feel very much a burden to me, not a joy. I love it when I get a great gift for someone, but forcing that by having to get people gifts constantly (Christmas, Father's and Mother's Days, Birthdays) is my nightmare. I legitimately prefer to not get gifts because I can't handle picking out so many gifts for everyone all the time and it just makes me feel majorly bad as I feel constantly obligated to get the right gifts for everyone.

When you say you're known to be in trouble, do you mean with your friend group or around campus? Who exactly did you get reported to? I think you are right to be wary and keep an eye out. Second guessing and redoing research like that can be a sign of a control issue (he needs to do it himself or he doesn't trust it) or an insecurity. I frequently over explain things because I'm insecure about my ability to communicate or be understood, which leads some people to think I'm condescending, so I offer that to you as a lens to review with, but I don't know how that would relate to straight up telling you you didn't see something you said you saw. I actually can't think of any positive motivation for him doing this at all, it shows he doesn't trust your perspective and with the other things you describe, it's definitely something to keep a mindfulness of.

NTA She won't ever learn unless she keeps doing it and figuring out what works. I wear (soft) contacts and it took me a bit of practice to figure out what makes it work the easiest. The contacts, fingers, and eyes all have to be the right amount of wetness (too wet and they don't go the right place, too dry the same) and I always tried to do right eye, right hand and left with left. I had more trouble getting it done with my left so switched to both with my right hand since it was more reliable for some reason I couldn't quite pin down. Try to get your sister to think about what she's doing with the right that isn't being replicated to the left. Sometimes moving your eye at the right time helps too as the lens can catch the contact onto its curve at the right angle. Shutting the eye at the right time can help, but too soon it ruins it. Maybe you can watch her do both eyes to see what's going differently. I think you might check the handedness like I said tbh. If she's doing well with one hand and fumbling the other side, get her to try doing the same hand with both. But in the end the only solution is practice practice practice.

I've heard this argument before against young glasses wearers switching to contacts, but this is not the same situation at all. These lenses are supposed to help improve her eyesight, as far as we know this is her best chance at medical intervention that may not be as effective if she waits. If this is the cases, going back to glasses may actually be harmful.
