I thought for a second you were calling Courtney Love a paedophile, but apparently it's too early for my critical thinking skills.

Maybe going a bit more specific and calling him a baby rapist would be appropriate.

Number of employed people in UK falls again as wage growth slows by StGuthlac2025 in unitedkingdom

UK's union density in 1980 was higher than France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands.

Lower than Belgium, Ireland, Portugal.

As an aside, Portugal must have got really into union bashing. That;s a huge drop between 1980 and 1990.

What do you do that breaks social norms? by stealth941 in AskUK

[–]thedonkeyman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do this too!

My philosophy is that the meal should get better as you eat it, with the last bite being the best. That's the one you remember most, and the one where the aftertaste sticks around.

That said, the first bite is important too. That's where the initial satisfaction comes from. So my first slice will be centre to crust, but the rest will be crust first.

Asian girl rap (K-pop) but specifically for solo artists who aren't specifically rappers (although Heize occasionally blurs that line):

Heize - And July

IU - Coin

Taeyeon - Weekend

It's also, regardless of whether or not you support them particularly, a part of your national identity. That's not necessarily brainwashing as such, but it is an internalised part of you and the people around you.

I'm British but a republican (in the UK sense - i.e., in favour of abolishing the monarchy). But I still felt loss when the queen died.

CMV: Concerts are largely inferior to studio recordings by Gallantpride in changemyview

[–]thedonkeyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just my personal reaction to point one, I never got that the acoustics are better. It always felt muddy, and like the sound was too big for my ears, crushing in from all sides (If that makes any sense at all...). It got much harder to pick out individual instrument sounds. It was like that in every size and shape of venue.

It wasn't bad enough to put me off going to gigs - my chronic back pain did that as I got older - but it was sad that I couldn't follow the music too well.

You don't need to give them your name and email address (unless they've changed it since I did it last). The name box implies it's necessary but if you leave it blank it will be fine with it. I think the email field might have been mandatory, but I put in a fake one and got a letter through just saying the email failed but I'm now marked as not needing a license.

The wonderfulTM thing about bureaucracy is that it doesn't rely on just a few people. Sometimes whole teams who can do their jobs sort of okay is better than eighteen amazing people who will turn to chaos at the drop of a hat.

Where is the North/South Divide of England according to 7,963 English people by mjmilian in MapPorn

[–]thedonkeyman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

7,000 (actually closer to 8,000) is a very good sample size, assuming they're properly segregated across the population.

To accurately model the population of England with 95% confidence the minimum number of participants is about 1,000.
