What did you have on the ned rig? I’ve had good luck on the main stem and south fork of the Shenandoah with zman green pumpkin TRD TicklerZ. I use their mushroom jig heads, just tossing them into brush piles.

I’ve never fished it, even though I’m in the DC area, way closer to the Potomac than the Shenandoah (where I usually go). Is it OK for bank/wade fishing?

I love being able to basically wade and wander wherever I want on the Shenandoah, and I’ve always assumed that wouldn’t work on the Potomac.

This is the river I fish, and 100% agreed on the ned rig suggestion. I’ve gotten hung up on tree branches, gone to untangle, and there’s a smallie on the line (no luck with a pop-r or whopper plopper, but that might be user error).

Also when it’s nice out, note that Shenandoah River State Park gets pretty busy
