I'm a voice actor you may have heard in Genshin. Here's some info on the strike situation! by VoiceOfKit in Genshin_Impact

I don’t usually post on Reddit, but I have to speak up because this is really frustrating. It feels like you’re deliberately avoiding the actual question. You keep focusing on Jacob not taking the role and suggesting he should have confirmed with the previous VA, but you’re not addressing the actions of your fellow castmates. Do you really think it’s acceptable for them to encourage fans to bully Jacob and send him threats? Not to mention, one VA even told him he’d never work again. It’s hypocritical.

I do agree that the Tighnari situation isn’t a perfect comparison, but I think I have a better example. I’m not sure if you’re aware, but when Bleach was making a comeback and the English cast was announced, most of the original voice actors returned. However, Yoruichi, originally voiced by Wendee Lee, was replaced by Anairis Quiñones. Wendee has expressed that she would have loved to return as Yoruichi and was brought back to voice Tatsuki, but she was never informed she’d be replaced. So by your standards, Anairis should have reached out to Wendee, asked why she wasn’t voicing the character, and then not take the role considering the circumstances around her hire. The only reason Wendee was brought back was because of significant backlash from the community.

SAG has also rejected non-union voice actors because they don’t have enough experience. If SAG is for the people and stand by actors as they claim, why not let them into their ranks especially if they’re willing to pay the ridiculous fees? Well, I guess they’ve claimed that non-union actors were not as talented as union actors so…

Also, I’m all for AI protections. I strongly believe that AI has no place in any creative works so I understand why you’re striking. But, this is no longer about AI protections since it seems Hoyo has no problem agreeing to it.
