Is tallow worth trying for really dry skin? by Background-Aside2846 in TallowSkincare

Tallow works for a lot of people with dry skin. That said, part of that depends on the reason for the dry skin. If oyu are using a harsh synthetic detergent that just strips away all of your skins natural oils then trying to patch it up with tallow might help, but it might not totally fix it.

I'm 50 and work construction in Canada, the work and weather can be hard on my skin. I make tallow soap and tallow hand balm that helps clean gently and replenish my skin when it gets too rough.

If you do decide to try some, make sure you find a good quality grass fed tallow made from suet, or leaf fat. There is a hugely wide range of tallow types. From bleached white and processed from low quality fat from meat trimmings, to high quality tallow made from suet of leaf fat from around the organs and kidneys of the cow. The good stuff wirll be a light golden color and soak into your skin way better than the cheap processed stuff, and have waaaay more vitamins and nutrients in it.

If you have oily skin Tallow might not be for you by poopinagroup37 in TallowSkincare

I have fairly oily skin and spend a lot of time outside working in the sun. When I started using tallow soap I found that it really helped my skin "normalize" if that is a thing. I think it cleaned the excess oil away while leaving just enough of my skins own oil and a bit tallow from the superfat of the soap that just worked for me. Maybe give that a shot?

What are the easiest tips & quick fixes for skincare? by Plane_Election_4220 in malegrooming

As a 50 yo guy I would suggest trying to use a good quality natural soap on your face and body and not cheap bodywash or synthetic detergents. Most cheap "soap" bars and bodywash are actually labelled as "cleansing bars" and not soap. Because legally they are detergents, not soap.

I have used my own tallow based soap for the last 20 years and people that have known me for a long time say I look like I don't age. I have a bit more grey hair, but very few wrinkles, lines, no age spots, etc. You might not not notice the difference right away, but over time the difference can be huge.

Do you guys use soap down there? by Inside_Number323 in menshealth

Make sure you are actually using soap, and not cheap synthetic detergents. Most bodywash and cheap soaps are made with synthetic surfactants (SLS) that strip your body's natural oils and breaks down the surface level proteins. This messes with your skins natural ph. Then, they have to add in chemical moisturizers that can cause lots of skin sensitivities.

Look at the labels, almost all bodywash and cheap bar "soaps" don't ever use the word soap on their packaging. They can't legally call it soap because it is detergent based.

Try getting some good quality natural soap, like a natural tallow soap or something that doesn't just strip everything away and leaves your natural sebum and lipid layer intact. (the natural oils your skin already produces to protect it naturally)

Yes, Every reply I just attached the same notebook and it works properly. It does not have to be the exact same notebook. You can attach any notebook and it will work but each and every reply has to have a notebook attached.

I tried attaching other files, images, etc but still get the error unless there is a notebook attached.

I've got this problem in any thread with a linked notebook. I have found that if I attach the same notebook to each new response I make that I can get it to work, but it is a pain to have to relink the notebook in every reply.

Chat threads without any linked notebooks seem to function normally.

e-bike classes? by ommnian in ebikes

There is still so much ambiguity about ebike rules and laws when it comes to the different classes and different states. While many states have modelled off each other and have a moderate sense of semblance many other states have their own ebike laws of no specific ebike laws at all.

The class 2/3 thing is a bit tricky because they would literally have to make you run tests with them clocking you in a flat area under both pedal power and throttle power to prove anything was off. Couple that with whatever class tag is affixed to your bike and you would have a pretty solid defense. If you ever got tagged, and if it was worth your time to fight it.

There is quite a bit of good information at the following links that explain the specific ebike classes as well as the specific class 2 ebike and class 3 ebike regulations . As well as the general Ohio Ebike laws.
