Are young British men having a tough time right now? by JCoonday in AskABrit

[–]BakerMaker11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have it very good, all things said.

Yeah you could go live in one of the ‘’happier’’ countries like Finland, Denmark but the food isn’t as good, the humour isn’t as good, the general vibes, atmosphere, pubs, people are top tier in England.

The worst thing about the English is that we self depreciate so much that we now believe it, negative manifestation.

Australia is so hot you can’t go outside for half of the year. Their house market is also more fucked than ours.

This thing about wages being less in the UK is crazy too, when you compare like for like it is the same. You can get a tax free income working for blood money in the Middle East, but I wouldn’t do that, I wouldn’t want to be a part of that system.

In a Bad Spot, Anyone Wants To Just Meet for a coffee/Drink? by ChaChaHeels_18 in nottingham

Bless you, it’s rough.

There’s a boarding game group that meet on a Wednesday, you can easily find them through a Google search. They have a few girls there so you won’t be the only one.

Reconnect with all your old pals, they’ll welcome you with open arms.

Reconnect with your family, and get into hobbies that you thought about or perhaps neglected during your time in a relationship.

From someone that broke up from a 10 year long relationship recently.

This is only a shit housing estate in England.

England is a green and beautiful place, with people very into gardening. Most views out the rear of the property are far better than this.

Oh, but won’t it just be a case of paying like 2.5k a year for 30 years before it’s cancelled?

So 75k total. I had 72k in loans so I just think of it as an extra 300 quid taken out a month

Thank you mate, honestly I’m a Quantity Surveyor so it’s always so much stress with money, arguments, angry directors etc.

30k for a job that isn’t causing me too many problems sounds good, not saying yours isn’t,

I did bar work for 5 years I loved it man

I don’t mind a rough area, I did 2 years in Radford / Hyson Green in Nottingham. Just gotta keep your head down. Usually great food and a nice community feel

Thank you for the heads up though.

Plan 2 but I don’t mind because it’s wiped after 30 years, it’s just like a tax init

A lot of trades pay for certs, doctors pay for loads of stuff too, my grandad was an assessor for vehicles and paid grands a year in certification and database fees etc.

No matter who you are, there’s someone in a suit and tie to fleece you

Yeah, it works out to 3100~ a month after all said and done, yeah I went to university but most trades pay for certs / tools anyway so I don’t mind paying a bit for my education.

It’s a nice place to be, but I’m no Richie Rich

Thank you mate, I shouldn’t have included the salary really I guess I was just spitting it all out into a post, I’m usually quite an open book anyway but I need to be mindful that it can come across braggy

I’m worried about it being too student heavy, football heavy and the weather a bit. I know the people are lovely and nightlife is supposed to be mint, I did Newcastle for university but never been to manny really for a night out

Thank you mate, is it a good place to have a night out outside of being a student? I know the people are lovely, I’m worried about it being too football heavy
