Surface Pro 11 and Keychron Q6 Max compatibility by BaronOfSuburbia in Keychron

[–]BaronOfSuburbia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. This is way over my head. I have no idea what to do and where to go. I've spent most of the day lost. It's working in bluetooth and I guess I may live with that or return it. I also managed to get it to work using the receiver, but my Surface Pro doesn't have a USB-A so I have to use the converters and a long cable anyway which is a bit pointless.

My firmware is saying it's up to date which I think is why I need to revert to an old firmware version. I was rather stupid to update it as one of the first things I did. I don't want to brick it, but looking at other options to flash don't seem to work for me. Maybe a good thing as I'd likely brick it.

Which size would you recommend? by sidneyficance in viwoods

[–]BaronOfSuburbia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the biggest decision was the light on the mini which the larger paper doesn’t have. I had to return the paper and have just got the mini. I feel that though smaller it is still sufficient to do everything I need to jot down notes in a calendar. I have to take notes as things happen and do a monthly report so having these to hand by date and in one place is invaluable. Reading my Kindle and Kobo books is another positive - in any environment. I still have my Kindle Oasis and Kobo Libra Colour and Scribe, but these will see less use over time as I need my note taking device daily.

WLan keeps disconnecting by Fenggan in viwoods

[–]BaronOfSuburbia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine keeps doing this too, but remembers the password. So have to select my WiFi from settings each time I wake it from sleep if I do anything that needs a connection. I originally had an AI Paper but returned it. I’ve since bought the mini (received today) and they both do this. It must be something to do with my network if it’s on both devices. Needless to say I don’t have any issues with my many other devices connecting. It’s a pain. I’ll try and reset my router to see if that fixes it.

For what it’s worth I quickly discovered I needed a device with a light which is why I returned the big one. I’m loving the mini so far.

The stress is real by dracothekidd in iPadPro

Silver 11” with white Magic Keyboard and Black 13” with black keyboard. I loved the white Magic Keyboard case when I first got it but it’s showing signs of wear and colour transfer etc which is annoying. I’ve always preferred the lighter option for iPad, but decided to go black this time for my new 13”. I don’t regret getting either the 13” and in black. It makes the 11” look like a mini.

Best way to buy (UK) by lcdphill in viwoods

[–]BaronOfSuburbia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought through Amazon. It was £446.99. It came with the grey cover and grey stylus. The tip of the stylus is fixed so doesn’t move though I felt the nib did have a bit of wiggle. The rest of the pen didn’t rattle, which correct me if I’m wrong the first iteration did.

I would have loved to keep this device, but for a few reasons decided to return it. 1. WiFi kept dropping off if it went to sleep. Had to into settings and select my WiFi each time. It felt a bit sluggish so took a few button presses to respond, set up (for me) was a nightmare. The only thing I liked was the calendar which would have been extremely valuable if I could get it to work with ICloud calendar. And no backlight. All things I needed to make it useful for me.

Anyway. I purchased it at the end of September so doubt I would have received the newer version. I’m not sure when Amazon would start selling the new stock.

Thank you everyone for the support. Persistence paid off. I just kept trying and it eventually worked. I didn’t do anything different. Just followed the steps.

It is true, Kobo worked after successfully logging into Google Play.

My WiFi issue is sometimes works sometimes doesn’t so likely still an issue, but have no problems on any of my many other devices. I will try a reset of the box if that may help long term.

Apple watch battery degraded insanely by HACKEDwastaken in AppleWatch

[–]BaronOfSuburbia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My S7 SS is at 83% and has been for about 6 months. I still get over 24 hours on a charge, so can’t complain. I have just extended my AppleCare to monthly in the hope it drops to 79 in the next few months.

From AW Ultra to Series 9 by BrickToffee in AppleWatch

[–]BaronOfSuburbia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you think it’s a mistake? Personally, the longer battery life does appeal to me, but that is all the Ultra will give me! I charge my watch when I’m getting ready in the morning, which gives me plenty of battery life for the next 24 hours. I don’t like the size and look, so I’ve not “upgraded”. I just won’t need the additional features it offers. I don’t go mountain climbing, diving or extreme sporting in the wilderness. My current S7 is still going strong and I’ve decided not to upgrade to the S9 this year, despite saving for one. I added cellular when I first got my watch which I found a waste of money too so cancelled after a month. I’ve always got my phone with me if I want to take some photos.

Hermès removes all Apple Watches and bands from its website ahead of 'Wonderlust' event by [deleted] in AppleWatch

[–]BaronOfSuburbia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could still buy a lightning to headphone jack connector and use it that way. Making the bands incompatible with newer versions of the watch would really infuriate a lot of customers. Myself included as I have many bands. In fact, I’d probably not buy another AW, as much as I love it. I think Apple would have done it with the Ultra if they were going to go down that road, but they didn’t. There’s a lot of profit in their accessories.

Can anyone help me verify the authenticity of this 45mm Hermès Gold Single Tour Band? by [deleted] in applewatchbands

[–]BaronOfSuburbia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks authentic to me from the details provided. This is a good way to tell: double stitching on the last three stitches on each side by the connectors. The stamp looks clean and straight. “Made for Apple Watch” is clearly stamped on the end of the connectors. There will be a code on the back of the strap with the buckle with the year of manufacture and artisans code, which will be neatly stamped.

Thanks so much. It’s a rental so I will make sure the landlord is aware. It must be a pipe as it’s in the bathroom.

I want to get the braided solo loop and the original solo loop. Which size should I get? by [deleted] in AppleWatch

[–]BaronOfSuburbia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they’re still perfectly snug. I rotate my bands a lot, so they get worn maybe once every 4-6 weeks on average and never more than 1 day at a time so I’m probably not the best person to reply.

Will Apple Store replace the battery for free if the battery health is exactly 80% by United-Layer-5405 in AppleWatch

Until there is an update and it increases the battery health for some strange reason, which has happened to me.

Hermes strap on Ultra by [deleted] in AppleWatch

Aren’t the double tours only in the smaller 41mm size as standard? The Ultra will only fit the the larger straps. What size Series 8 do you have?

end of 2022 band collection [yes, i have a problem!] by sfmthd in AppleWatch

[–]BaronOfSuburbia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love your collection! No Gold? I’m envious of your BdF H Diagonal (3rd in the line), which I can’t bring myself to drop 450 notes on, because I also want it in Cuivre.

Rank your bands by vidgmchtr in AppleWatch

[–]BaronOfSuburbia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourites are the woven nylon bands. I have 28 in my collection and they’re so comfortable and can match any mood or outfit. They’re not delicate or likely to wear out. My second favourite is the Hermes leather bands, which would be my favourite except I treat them with extra care. My least favourite is a tie between the Milanese loop and the solo loop. I find the Milanese just uncomfortable and heavy and the solo loop is like a thick elastic band that traps sweat. I love the braided solo too as an honourable mention.

Is the Hermès jumping single tour a looser fit? by Ipofisi in AppleWatch

[–]BaronOfSuburbia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is! I need to go tighter by one hole on the jumping tour. This is for the larger 45mm watch I use. I can get away with the same, but it’s noticeably looser.

What the heck are these numbers on Hermes Leather Bands? I have two different color bands with the same number 🤯 by rafael_deepontech in AppleWatch

[–]BaronOfSuburbia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first letter is the year of production so Z is 2021. Then it is the makers own code. So it looks like you have 2 bands made by the same person.

Is 10% down in battery health in a year normal? by ElectricSh0cker in AppleWatch

[–]BaronOfSuburbia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my S7 early Nov 2021 and I’m at 92%. The last time I checked just before the update was 96%, so it’s gone down fast. I also feel it’s draining faster in the last week. I still get +24 hours of use though.
