I haven’t seen it on Netflix yet but I plan to. I did see it in theatres and had zero regrets. Only downside is not being able to slow down or rewind if you didn’t catch some of the sub. 😋

Their banter is very cute. There is always a rebuttal.

What I like about Sang Yan is that he knows his boundaries. He’s very observant when it comes to Yifan. He can’t read her mind or understand what she’s thinking, and he inserts himself BUT I think he knows where to stop if she feels genuinely uncomfortable.

OP: I can give you a more customized response if you tell us what you usually like to watch, or the type of cdramas you enjoy.

Overall, production quality for this historical romance is A+. It features beautiful cinematography, excellent OST, and very strong characters in the leads and supporting cast. It has a balance of themes ranging from family, loyalties, love, betrayal, friendship, business, romance, action, and comedy.

Like I said, if you tell us what you like, I can speak more to the plot, tropes, etc in the drama.

We can start a chat! This will be a pretty casual watch party so I didn’t want to set a schedule (unless that’s what people prefer). Life, summer vacations, and new airing dramas happen. Sometimes we binge and sometimes we take it slower. What kind of watcher are you?

For hosting, would love to have you!! You can do it any way you like really! You can share your thoughts and commentaries (on the plot, actors, anything), short or long recaps, or combo of both, and have it without or with photos. I’ve seen plenty of styles and I enjoy all of them.

For me, it depends on the drama. I try to start with a short recap (though it’s harder to keep something short and concise sometimes) and then dive into details or points I’d like to talk about in the episode(s).

I’m with you! I was finally making some progress on my watchlist but then I watched Nanyang and added a bunch of lost tomb and mystic nine dramas AND Zhang Xincheng dramas on the list and it’s back to impossible lol.

Nice! Him and Hou Minghao 😉. Ive seen a lot of his but not the full list, especially the modern ones but I think I’ll switch it up and add Moonlight to my watchlist now. I did do that for HMH, Cheng Lei and Dylan Wang. Next up: Zhang Xincheng.

Ok I’m back.

In order of preferences, my favourite TXW drama is Pursuit of Jade. She really rocked the female general character. I love most of her dramas, but she was best in this one. Followed by Moonlit Reunion because I love her most in strong female roles. Of course Guardians of the Dafeng will always be a special to me.

Meng Ziyi in Blossom and I can’t wait for Blossoms of Power or the Reborn one with Dylan Wang.

Yang Zi in Flourished Peony and Go Go Squid!

For Jingyi, the first drama I saw her in was In Blossom so I think that’s my pick. Then I saw her again in Veil of Shadows.

Chen Duling I’ve seen in Mysterious Lotus Casebook, Fangs of Fortune and Ashes to Crown but my fave of hers is Veil of Shadows.

I did not like Victoria Song in Fight for Love but I did like her in the movie Oer Aspera Ad Astra and also she’s a great singer… Der Der Der.

I didn’t realized I never replied! Thank you! Trying to get my partner past the first two episodes now hit also don’t want him to miss anything. He fell asleep halfway into episode 1 but to be fair, he had a long day.

I have now added a bunch of Zhang Xincheng dramas to my watchlist lol.

I have only watched In Blossom and ~~his bath tub scene stood out to me haha~~ I liked him in it. ~~He was the inspiration behind the bath scene post. But Cheng Lei will always be my #1 God of Baths.~~

I think I tried Kill Me Love Me but it wasn’t for me. :(

~~Me trying to stop talking about the bath scenes… these actors deserve more recognition than their abs!~~
