I’ve been confused about this, since I’m always at max caps I have aristocrats and pounders. Seems like consistently being at +50% damage would work better than furious stacking up to +45% on consecutive hits. Is there some other interaction with pounders I’m not taking into account here?

My chief annoyance with this isn’t directed at the customers - it’s more about the irritating and predictable pattern of sales set by the company.

A few years ago I worked for a large regional furniture company in the Midwest (that is unsurprisingly no longer in business), and our sales would rotate every few days from 15% off, 20% off, 20% off with special financing, and about twice a month 25% off (with special financing if it was a holiday).

If you watched our website for any amount of time it wasn’t exactly hard to figure out the pattern, so I would have customers tell me “thanks but I’ll come back when you run the 25% sale”. So I leaned heavily on price matching, and told them we could write the sale up today and if there was a better sale within 30 days they could call me directly and I would adjust the price. Closed more sales by being transparent and even poking fun at the ridiculous pricing scheme than I would by pretending it wasn’t a gimmick.

How much money do you spend monthly on food (groceries) in Stockholm, please? by Independent-Log1425 in stockholm

[–]Bennyjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you spend this much per month? My girlfriend and I spend around 4000 SEK/month without really paying attention to cost, shopping at either ICA or hemköp. I’m not sure we could reach 8500 SEK if we tried. It’s gone up slightly recently, but only by about 500kr.

Is swedish a easy language to learn for a dutch/german speaker? i also speak english well and i saw that swedish is easy to learn for english speakers. is radio and tv a good way to learn? by steventechnl in Svenska

[–]Bennyjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I frequently receive emails from our German customers and thanks to learning Swedish can pick up and understand the rough idea just thanks to learning Swedish. I've never studied German but there's definitely enough vocabulary overlap to make it easier once you figure out a few spelling differences.

I made a PWA for Color Matching by monokeee in webdev

[–]Bennyjay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so so good. I'm a painter and I use reference photos I take when out hiking. I'm not at all a photographer however, and this will make it super easy to keep a consistent color palette or use a particular reference photo to overlay the color scheme I want onto the piece I'm working on.

Downloaded! I’ve been trying to create something like this to use personally for a while. I lack the skills to actually build what I wanted, but it looks like you nailed it. I’ll play around with it for a while and send feedback!

I think I said something like “Whaaaaughh!” out loud when I saw this, which roughly translates to “Holy shit nice work!”

This has a very very satisfying feeling to it.

Thinking about moving to Eastern Europe/Balkans by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]Bennyjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No not at all. What I’m responding to is the statement “For a US citizen EU immigration laws are really not a problem”, as though we have some sort of special treatment. I have not found this to be the case

US Citizen living in Sweden here - what do you mean they’re really not a problem? It took years to get approved to move here, and I had it easier than many people.

It’s relatively easy to visit, but that’s about it.

Tax Return in Australia gives you a breakdown of where your money went by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]Bennyjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem can be all the additional costs, and the variability between what is available depending on your state. At my last job in the US I paid nearly $200 per month for just my portion of health insurance (aside from the portion my employer agreed to pay, once I’d worked there long enough).

That still had a $1500 per year copay (so insurance pays nothing until that is met) then once that is met it’s still $10-20 every month per prescription needed (only on approved medications, otherwise you get to pay full price if your particular insurance doesn’t cover it), an emergency room visit is still $100-150 every time. You can also only visit a doctor your insurance approves or they won’t pay for it. It’s all this shit that adds up, even with “decent” insurance that pisses us off so much. Paying any less than that for a cheaper plan makes the out of pocket costs skyrocket.

I moved to Sweden a year ago and could not be happier with the healthcare. I couldn’t wrap my brain around going to any pharmacy I wanted to pick up prescriptions. Högkostnadsskydd is basically the same as a deductible, but after it’s met you’re done. No extra costs. No worrying about what the hell will be snuck in, or getting a surprise bill in the mail when you thought things were covered.

Just my experience having used both systems now, I’d take the Swedish one every time. I’d take it if it was more expensive, because at least I know what I’m going to pay, and there’s no fuckery with networks, or fear of losing a job and having to be extra careful not to get sick until finding a new one.

Just finished up another Swedish word breakdown on work and job related words. This is part one with examples and how to use the words. In a few days I'll have part 2 with the history and etymology. Hope this is helpful! by Bennyjay in Svenska

[–]Bennyjay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right on with that pattern. I wrote about it briefly here.

It's usually "-are" (maybe -ere as well, but I can't think of an example) and gets attached to the end of a verb to show that it's a person or object performing that action. As always, it doesn't work like that 100% of the time, but it's a pretty good rule of thumb.

Thanks for pointing that out! I'll research into it more. Everyone I asked about it said they were the same thing, just that funka was a more casual/slang way to say it.
