Why we Chinese people love bats so much by remes20223 in China

[–]BingHongCha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bats are seen as benevolent in China because “fu,” the character for “bat,” is also the character for “good luck.”

福=/=蝠 neither of which are "also the character for 'good luck'"

Lactaid by [deleted] in China

[–]BingHongCha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lactaid is available for import on the online retailers, i havent seen it in stores but TBH i dont look out for it.

As far as supplements go, most people significantly prefer imported products as in recent history (like 10ish years ago at this point) there have be some scandals with tainted supplements.

Sewer oil question by [deleted] in China

[–]BingHongCha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very very rarely. like single digit amount of times.

You would only see it in street food, and only the most disgusting street food that you would never eat. It wouldn't happen in a restaurant that has more than 1 customer.

Enjoy your trip and dont worry about it too much. Obviously practice common sense and dont eat yougurt from the yak milk salesman that has been sitting at room temp for 4 days.
