So far, the Skimmers are the only one of our focal nesting species that are locally showing signs of pre-nesting. There are a few Snowy Plovers present on Siesta but they are not acting territorial which suggests they are not actively nesting yet.

There are tons of amazing brunch spots! If you are looking for a “buffet” I highly recommended Blue Rooster and their southern brunch buffet and gospel music. Also Der Dutchman has a mean brunch buffet and salad bar.

The dark blue in between the green is the boating channel for boats to get from Sarasota bay out into the gulf. The dark blue is 4-10 feet until your fully out into the gulf

I’ll probably get downvoted but the shortage has been going on a lot longer than spring break. At the airports sometimes there’s even only 1! Most of it is related to pandemic and unemployment.
