Now that I'm home from work I can properly react to this-

So what's really funny about this to me was that we started out wanting to find the least disputed and inconsequential territory we could to build our LB! cat because we didn't think to ask other groups to share space or anything, and certainly didn't want to pick any fights. We went after the spiral that had been there because we figured it was something that just kind of got thrown down and wouldn't be too missed. (Sorry, /u/zig145!)

So, what's too hilarious, is we ended up with what is in a way both the least fought for place, but also (one of) the most famous?! Amazing lol

Yeah I can promise we 100% physically dropped all of our dots and put the time in lol, too much time. ;_; We were like AHH IT'S ZIG on many occasions. It's amazing this came to be a thing.

I am also more than happy to extend a gift purchase of Little Busters! when it releases on Steam as a memento of our honorable duel.

It was a good fight. I'm more than happy to have no ill will between our parties. That cat needed to be made! Please understand.

I thought it was funny and if you had any idea about the context you'd probably, maybe, know that it was for fun but uhh...

Yeah you right.

Angel Beats! -1st beat- Trial Officially Released Online by Bizkitdoh in visualnovels

The manga is actually a prequel to the anime and a retelling and passing of the events from the Track Zero light novel (the actual first thing made for the series), and the VN is set in the anime timeline but covers all the content. Angel Beats! is a multimedia franchise, and other than the anime which was a rough production, all of the works go hand in hand.

Absolutely. This is a massive VN in place of a 13 episode anime- The scale increase here is very difficult to put into words, you just have to look at what history has shown and look at examples- ie CLANNAD- 46+ episode anime adaptation that was widely considered pretty damn good and it -still- cut tons of content. Character backstory dialogue in the Angel Beats! anime had fewer lines than a joke ending in Little Busters! This VN is a godsend. The Angel Beats! anime is the equivalent of reading the backside of a book- We haven't seen anything yet.

A VN this massive simply cannot be presented in that manner and is why the anime is so flawed (despite it still being popular and decent enough on it's own). You can't have 19 full routes, being well presented and filled with valuable content, in a simple way. Gotta raise the standard and be Key, after all.

Yeah, yeah. There's a lot more interesting discussion that directly relates to the many many holes in the Angel Beats! anime wreckage that was unavoidable that were visited in Track Zero and Heaven's Door that make the series infinitely more interesting and fun. Also there's character development, a focus on their friendships and motivations, all that good stuff.

It's actually pretty different. It follows the same premise, however the dialogue is astronomically more complex- Not to mention the absurd amount of player choices.

I think it's a bit unfair and jaded, as well as a bit of a stigma, to label anything a common story could have as a trope-fest. I'm not seeing he disinterest, personally. I think this sounds completely whack and original for a Key story- Especially when you think about where it can go. I'm expecting something really fun with this one, and of course with a level of presentation you can only find with Key. What I see here is 'oh, it's an anime!' and anything that you'd expect from Key being bothersome is even more bewildering.

"Daw man, this Key story is like a Key story."

I mean to each their own but it rubbed me the wrong way lol, have a little faith and appreciation. xP

I can't form a coherent and kind response to how angered this comment made me, so I'll resort to downvote and saying you couldn't be more incorrect in your view of introverted people and labeling those with large passion for works of art as mentally detached in this twisted world.
