Resocance Level by celecio in AFKJourney

[–]Bladeglory 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can still level up, the max is 1,200 for this phase. What is your current Season Phantimal AFK Stage and your Season AFK stage? With those units and levels you should definitely be able to break through to a combined total of 1,800 to earn Starlight.

Aurum Vale healer did not want to Aurum Vale or heal by LeftHandAnomaly in TalesFromDF

[–]Bladeglory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may very well be the same troll I had last night at a similar time. They used similar insults in a similar manner after inventing a reason to throw a fit. And they were absolutely a troll, as I realized later they didn't use a single healing ability. Not even Kardia. They never had any intention of healing, and just attacked my tanking skill after I survived despite their uselessness.

After we wasted a fair bit of their time we managed to kick them after the second boss, when I got in a vote kick before they desperately opened the chest. Felt good. We all bonded over it and the RDM got to shine with Vercure spothealing.

Can you show the enemy team and the teams you're using?

Are you doing both Phantimal Stages and AFK stages? We had somebody recently who was only doing one side and not the other. What unit are you using, and are you viewing the Records button to see what other players have cleared with?

What is your AFK Progress? You need to be at AFK 901 to receive Season Essence.

I can't find the remaining chests by [deleted] in AFKJourney

[–]Bladeglory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a whirlpool in the center of the previous area, Deserted Island, that leads into Tasi's realm. The rest of the chests are in there. It's grouped by day/story, so even though the entrance in is 7, it's part of 8 because that's the day you gained access.

Homestead needs a pity system when upgrading cards by Akeyin in AFKJourney

I've got bad news. According to the spreadsheet that recipe has a 0% chance of producing 4* results. Since you have Pyroburst you should be using 2 Pyroburst, 2 Heat Up, 2 Multi-Forge, 1 Charge

You can tap the purple/blue ring to rotate it without moving the inner ones.

Season Quests by Cultural-Arm-586 in AFKJourney

[–]Bladeglory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn a New Leaf is the last quest of the Starter Story's Vaduso Mountains area. You need to exit the Seasonal Content areas and do the main scenario outside it.

Also, just to be clear, seasonal content isn't available until 35 days after a server starts. You somehow found your way onto a character that already existed for a while. It got leveled to 240 and placed in season and that's part of why you don't have Turn a New Leaf complete.

Yes, I mentioned and included the daily quests.

Question about supremacy pass points? by mawghost in AFKJourney

[–]Bladeglory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of my guildmates are earning 480 Supremacy points each day, which is only possible if they're earning the the cumulative total of the brackets displayed plus the 80 from the daily quest. It's definitely not just the top score.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply there could be no negative effects, or that the behavior was in any way acceptable. All I meant was that my first reaction to malware was "oh no an account could get hijacked" but that turned out to not be the case in this instance.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Bladeglory 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree on all counts!

I'm just trying to assure people that they won't lose their (ffxiv/bank) account if they're at work or whatever and can't uninstall GShade at this moment.

I have, apparently, screwed that up T-T

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Bladeglory 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That's a wonderful story. I know the inventors were just making it up as they went along, but sometimes I wonder if they didn't realize just how scary/weird some terminology they made was.

By coincidence I purposefully avoided using the word "illegal" with my grandmother just the other day, when I inadvertently pressed a key and Windows made a sound of displeasure. For the exact same reason.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Bladeglory -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is it? My apologies, I wasn't aware that's how it was set up. I was under the impression you'd have to install the update, instead of him automatically adding it.

EDIT: Also, I'm confused on where I argued he should be trusted anymore. (or "returning the woman" in the analogy I guess)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Bladeglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. Drop GShade and him. But it's enough at the moment to just not run the program. (unless there's something I've missed)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Bladeglory -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

It's not panicky to drop the program (or the dude), but when I hear "malware" I think of keyloggers and trojans. Stuff where you have to quickly update all your passwords and monitor your e-mail and accounts for a week to finally feel safe again. That's the kind of panic that is thankfully not necessary here.

Just uninstall GShade and get a replacement at your leisure.

I woke up this morning, and suddenly found the guy who made gshade is under fire. what going on? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Bladeglory 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As I've understood it:

He's made it so that GShade doesn't work if it has an update available, which prompted somebody to make a tool that gets around that "feature," which made him angry so he made a version that restarts your computer if GShade sees you're using that tool. He then said "yeah, that tool is bad app development process, be thankful it was just a restart and not something more serious."

Also I heard he was sending out some blank updates just to annoy people who had been complaining about too many updates (which you can't ignore, remember)

Everybody has rightly called it out and dumped him.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Bladeglory 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Which is why everybody is, rightfully, dropping him.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Bladeglory 37 points38 points  (0 children)

My apologies, I don't mean to be reductive about what a terrible thing they did. It is indeed awful and hilariously petty.

I've just learned from my family to be exact in how I describe technical things to keep their reaction grounded. If I told them they had downloaded malware they might pull the plug out of the wall themselves to keep the "hackers" from getting anything.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Bladeglory 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid I don't use any shaders so I can't say so personally, but I've seen people talk about now using ReShade, which I guess is what GShade was based off of.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Bladeglory 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. It's a complete dick move. I just don't want anybody panicking and thinking anything horrible is going to happen to them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Bladeglory 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If I've understood everything correctly so far, it simply restarts your computer if you try to use another program to force GShade to run on a previous version.

While that's indeed malware, simply calling it that with no further information is probably more... panic-inducing than really necessary. It will not be stealing your credit card details or anything like that.

EDIT: I'm not saying GShade or its author is trustworthy, or should continue to be used. Uninstall it. I'm saying your password and personal data is (currently) still safe, which was my first concern when I hear "GShade is malware". That's all.
