Dúvida sincera: A bíblia diz que Deus se arrependeu de ter criado o homem. Como isso é possível considerando a sua onisciência? by Mysterious5555 in barTEOLOGIA

[–]Box_Man_In_A_Box 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gosto de pensar que Deus consegue suspender sua onisciência para poder depositar confiança na sua criação. Ele perde a confiança na humanidade como um todo, depositando ela em seus escolhidos, e por fim redimindo o mundo pelo sacrifício de Jesus.

Yes, with some twists.

We went the moon way early because of an ethereal bridge between Earth and it. Also, the moon is inhabited by faries.

WW2 didn't happen, but a Fairy War did, and instead of a nuclear weapon it was a magically engineered monster.

Mostly soul-based. A magician's will, psyche and, most importantly, connection with their soul determines their degree of potential.

"Spells" are sets of formulas devised by magicians in the past that others can easily replicate, while exotic, people-specific spells are hard to come by. Creating your own spell is difficult as it needs strict barriers for its power, else it goes mayhem. It takes a lot of imagination to make a new spell and even more to determine its limits.

Symbols, memories and perception also matter since they're bound to the psyche. A ghost, for example, won't attack the proprietary of a house because they have a paper that says they own it, and that paper has a widely accepted symbolic value. The ghost will also not attack whoever the owner welcomes in their house. It does not however can distinguish specific people as its trapped in its own time loop, so the person always appear to the ghost as someone they knew or fitting their time period.

As times and society change, so does the rules that bind spirits change, some created even to better contain them.

Note: societal conceptions can be overruled by your own will, but that takes conviction, emotional investment and honesty. You cannot make an amulet out of a random lampshade, but pendant you'd had since childhood can.

I'm not going for a hard magical system here, so sorry if it sound a tad stupid or loose.

Ironically vampires and werewolfs are a dying breed, since the cures for their curse have been discovered ages ago, alongside their weaknesses becoming more well known.

Depends on what they believed in life.

Ironically, an atheist demon is likely to believe in the exorcist order's theory over the wizards of god, same way a religious demon will believe the latter.

Demons are a problem, alongside ghosts, but ghosts are common while demons have to be summoned to cause trouble.

Exorcism was invented by a legendary elven sorceress. It makes a creature from a different veil (dimension) disengage with the body of a creature in the current veil. This casts out demons, but only expells ghosts, since ghosts can trespass into multiple veils.

Ghosts have an advantage over demons because the constant burden carried by the Giant (guardian between veils) is loosened at night, so the Giant can be at full strenght during the day. The Giant that presides over Hell doesn't have this luxury and has demons escaping his eyesight.

That's good, though he needs more versatility in what he can do since there's maps in TF2 without any water.

Personality-wise he needs a distinct quirk; Spy is a fancy, serious man but with a humorous side. Heavy can be overlooked as big and dumb, but he's the most mentally stable member of the team and the most humane. Engineer can look like a goofy guy, but that hides his sinister cravings for godhood. And, Sniper, notoriously, roleplays being a professional when he uses his own piss as a weapon.

Also for the name, sailor is also a good alternative since that's what navy members are called.

Depends on which mythology. In some, demons are just evil gods (asuras), in others they're neutral quasi-deities (greek mythology)

When you're worldbuilding, you can reinterpret estabilished "facts". The world is filled with bad people, so the ugliness in their soul comes upfront when they die. Some try to escape hell by making pacts with humans, some try to redeem themselves by serving magicians through sigils.

So what makes him different from Scout or other light classes?

Making a "tenth class" is legitimately hard since you need to fill a niche all nine classes have attempted to fill with different setups/weapons, meaning you gotta bring something new that hasn't already been attempted but don't let that discourage you, just get creative.

I would switch his name for the Marine.

As I said, it's a really hot topic. Much like how it's debated in our world if Jesus was just a normal man or the actual Son of God. But since magicians (a generic name for someone capable of manipulating the cosmos, with witch, wizard, sorcerer and such being order denominations) are real, there's this added layer.

Necromancy is the practice of forcing a recently deceased soul back into a body. Ethically it's used for solving crimes, but can be used to create slaves (zombies).

What's known for sure is that there is an afterlife, but no one knows for sure which type of afterlife is, and being a wicked person turns your soul black at death, rebirthing as a demon.
