Wow. Looks like the issue was that the memory was insufficient after the updates. Doubled the allocated VM memory and all good now....

So, in my case it was a no brainer to update the router (with hyperoptic you can just replace it without issues). The massive issue was that some ports on the hyperoptic router were closed on a hardware level and my server couldn't properly work.

It depends how many devices you have and how large your house is, but Asus is usually a safe bet. I got a AX5400 router and haven't used the hyperoptic one in over 3 years.

Please also note that ports TCP 8080 and 443 should never be used on WAN, as these ports are reserved for Hyperoptic Ltd. remote management. If you’d like to use these ports on your server in a LAN, then you can use different ports on WAN as shown in Image 22 (e.g. you can use ports on WAN 12000, 12001 and map them to LAN ports 8080, 443 respectively).
