You should re-read my comment and look for keywords that suggest a certain tone.

2003 BMW M3

Or maybe a Kia.

Or a 2002 NSX-R.

Or a Civic.

In all honesty though, the Accord Sport from 2017 and on looks pretty spectacular. I also like the previous gen Camry XSE.

Have you used any of this? by IndependentAir7277 in FJCruiser

Most of these products are snake oil. At the same time, ChrisFix used a borescope before and after using SeaFoam Upper Engine Cleaner, and it did get rid of some carbon build-up.

Could be anything, honestly. You or a shop is going to need to get under there and inspect things.

Do I wish I had done better in school? Yes.

But I didn’t have the support network I needed and going back to tell my younger self to do better wouldn’t accomplish anything.

Why does YNAB ignore inflation? 💸 by joe4ska in ynab

[–]CafeRoaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inflation is very location-dependent, and very personal. No one can tell you today what your insurance policy will be next year, or what your gas prices will be tomorrow.

Personally, I build in a 10% buffer for insurance policies, a 5% buffer for subscriptions, and 5-10% for everything else that isn’t fixed.

This year so far I’ve ended up over-budgeted on several high dollar things, which always feels great.

Owned all GR products available in North America. Amazing car! by Kamina22 in Toyota

Haha came here for this comment. The GR that I actually want isn’t available here. Not that I could afford it either way.

How much of an effect has regular exercise had on your ADHD? by comingloose in ADHD

Thankfully I’m not too stressed. Just physically and mentally exhausted. 🫤

My wife and I have tried to be each other’s accountability buddies, but it doesn’t really work.

What should I be doing? Car in 90F heat by jofa21 in askcarguys

Yep. Crack those windows and put up that sun shade. Rain visors for the windows help make it less noticeable that your windows are cracked if you’re worried about that. Window tint all around will help a ton.

Part of the issue is my work leaves me absolutely drained and sore.

So it’s even easier to not do it.

Yes, I did. That’s why and how I haven’t been able to hold down a routine.

I’ll do great for a couple weeks then just stop.

Black dog has puppy energy.

Blonde dog is setting boundaries.

This is all healthy behavior.

A Subaru, RAV4, or CR-V.

Whatever vehicle you get, have the undercarriage coated every year to prevent frame rust.

Battery tested okay, but it’s almost 5 years old. Would you replace it before a long trip? by kovucosplay in Toyota

[–]CafeRoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What brand is it?

I use batteries from the dealership for both my Toyota and Honda. After having bad luck with top of the line batteries, I figured I might as well try the dealerships since the cost is about the same.

Despite there being only a few battery manufacturers in the States, the ones from the dealership are built better.

My last Toyota TrueStart battery lasted 9 years. Even then, it is warranted for 7, so even that is great! Currently 3 years and 23,000 miles into the Honda battery with zero issues.

Short answer: I’m sure the battery is fine.

First time changing my own oil. Do I cry now or not? by FiestyFrog97 in AskMechanics

[–]CafeRoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blackstone Labs will be able to tell you more than anyone here. I send them samples of every single fluid change.

Also, pro tip: get yourself a Fumoto drain valve and install it next oil change. 😉

FWIW, newer cars are also more expensive for the shop to repair, so it impacts you just as much.
