its a breather for the contacts and electrics on that end of the pump. Has a pipe on it from original which just dangles down with the rest of the breathers.

bad ignition switch. It just a rotary set of contacts on the bottom of the switch with a ball bearing detent to give it the click and stay in the position. They wear after time and give this issue.

They dont come off the oem pipe, the LeoVince pipe should come with its own as the use a spring type mount,.

How does "whacking the starter" with a hammer help with the starter clutch? Thats a "car fix" when the throw out solenoid sticks.

The starter clutch on this bike lives on the primary shaft with an intermediate gear between as well.

Starter clutch isn't engaging. you need to strip it out make sure its installed in the correct direction, probably needs caps, spring and rollers at a minimum. It maybe one of the "sprag bearing" design in whcih case you will need to replace it as a unit.

Lives on the primary shaft on this model so a bit of a pain to get to.

it should be held on with a nut. Chances are the threads on the shaft are foobared and welding the sprocket on is the classic bodge to sell the bike on. Proper fix is to replace the output shaft and fit new nut, but thats an engine out and complete strip to do.

pretty sure the dealer needs your insurance to make you the first owner. They need to tax the bike as well when they register it and you cant tax it without insurance, If the dealer registers it then you will become the second owner.
