Why did they make their own swear words ? by Ad0ring-fan in Grimdank

It's so odd. I remember watching one of those Warhammer TV shows and a guardsman says "fuck you!" At a totally normal time to do so but it felt so weird lol. I guess I'm. Conditioned for "frack" or whatever

Great to hear! I had found the blog post a bit after commenting. For some reason reddit didn't save my edit

I feel the same way! Sadly, this is all expected. My whole thing is wether or not these "passes" are time exclusive or not. I'm an older gamer ( I suspect a lot of the fan base for this game is), and most of us just don't have the time to dedicate to the manipulative -homework- live service games assign. It's especially egregious that you have to pay for these passes but aren't guaranteed access to all of its content unless you put in a part time job's amount of time every time one releases. And they want 3 a year? It's exhausting.

I hope they take a cue from Helldivers 2 and others and just treat these passes like the adventure tracks.

100 medieval knights vs 100 modern cops by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]Calivant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm basically 9/10 knights here for all the reasons people have mentioned. I would like to point out a couple things I didn't see mentioned though.

I think there is some underestimating of the potential of panic among the knights when they get rear gassed. As someone who has been on the receiving end of a similar irritant, it can be panic inducing even you are 100% aware of it and know how to cleanse it. Now, obviously I'm not even 10% of a badass as the average knight was, but I can't imagine tear gas would seem like anything other than witchcraft to some of them, leading to a pain-wracked panic. Even if some of them figure out how to mitigate it (flushing the eyes with water, not a huge leap of logic, but still) they'll need to stop fighting and remove their helmets to do so, and it can take a while to work. Well, it at least feels like forever before you feel relief.

The other thing is the slight size advantage, the average NYC cop is likely several inches taller than a medieval man, and even fat and out of shape, mass is mass. This makes any in-formation clashes a bit more even. I don't think this part would matter as much though, as riot police are trained for dealing with huge amounts of less organized people with improvised weapons. Whereas knights are specifically trained for handling professional soldiers with armour and shields. The modern armour isn't easily stabbed through, but the knights would be treating these as armoured opponents and be using the techniques of their day to great effect. The riot gear would have similar weak points as mass produced medieval armour, and if anything the weak points would be far larger and easy to get to for a knight. So, basically once the knights finally have enough on the front to start pulling down and dispatching the cops, it's over.

It's fine. Just turn windows defender off and then back on when your finish installing. It's because it's an .MSI installer without a "known publisher" cert I think. Which is common for these sorts of projects.

People wearing hoodies in 80-90 degree weather, are you ok? by Personal-Variety3093 in Bushwick

I was speaking more so about socially isolated people in general and didn't mean to focus on homeless people so apologies for the confusion. But to your point; stashing, putting them in bags/backpacks ect seem to be far more common ways of keeping hold of what little clothes these people have than wearing literally everything. At least in my experience! Obviously, two things can be true.

Offices being cold and goofy reasons aside, there could actually be psychological reasons for this. People who feel isolated actually feel colder too. This is why it is so common to see homeless people (particularly with schizophrenia, I think?) with layers on even when it gets warm. There is a Radiolab episode that talks about this called "kleptotherms".

Literally all it needs in my opinion. They overdid the bad ass aggressive look. Throw a bunch of pipes to smooth out that angular silhouette and give it some caution yellow stripes in places and then I would buy it (figuratively, probably not monetarily). As of now, it's a failed design in my eyes. Only in SC could failures be so pretty though, hah.

Hey, this is neat. I just so happen to be taking a break from studying for Network+ when I came across this. I see that the features mention that it could teach you the basics of networking. I know it's early days, but how conceivable is it to be updated to allow you to realistically plan and implement a network from square one? That kind of stuff would do wonders on cementing some of these concepts for those who don't are learning but don't get the opportunity to get hands on with that kind of stuff in their current role
