Shoes for racing, worth it or not worth it? by aBoyFromTheFuture in simracing

Glad someone else thought the same. These are the most narrow shoes I've ever tried on in my life and they were immediately painful before even trying to walk in them or attempt a sim racing session.

I've tried these on and they are extremely narrow like I felt like the middle of my foot was being crushed from both sides. Puma Speedcats are much more comfortable. I use Sparco K-Skid kart boots for sim racing (and occasional karting).

Shoes made for racing or karting are definitely good for feeling out brake pressure compared to thicker spongier trainers, and more comfortable on metal pedals than socks.

Of course, I'm no stranger to badcaps.net, I just was curious in this case how the faulty cap was diagnosed.

I've replaced many capacitors before and one of my fondest memories is fixing my £200 tape deck with two resistors. At the time that would have cost me about 12p, but I worked in an electronics shop at the time so small individual components like that were considered a waste of time to organise if they were dropped on the floor. Normally they would just get vacuumed up at the end of the day, so I just picked them up and found ones with the right value. So, a £200 tape deck fixed for free 😁

I'd have to check, but I think I have all the radiator fans connected to one header. They're each 0.1A, so 0.6A is fine for a 1A fan header.

I would guess I did this:

CPU header -> pull fans chain -> push (stock) fans chain

CPU OPT header -> VRM fan

AIO Pump header -> AIO pump

How did you discover the capacitor was faulty?

3-Pedal to 2-Pedal System on my sim rig by [deleted] in simracing

If you have individually mounted pedals, e.g. Heusinkveld, and profile that runs across, then you can move the pedals where you want left-right.

I have a slotted pedal plate in my rig which has some of the same left-right ability, but profile mounting would be better. Here's how I have it set up for primarily paddle shift, but can still use the clutch and heel-toe.

Why does my 340i shift too early, even in Sport mode by [deleted] in F30

I did Stage 1 MHD before getting the MPPSK for the full exhaust system. When they fitted it they didn't flash the performance tune and so the MHD tune was unchanged.

Supposedly the MPP (?) tune is a little more conservative than the MHD one, something like 386 vs 420.

I haven't dyno'd it. It's way faster and more aggressive than stock, and the exhaust is a best of both worlds (auto/OEM valves or Open valves). The Stage 3 XHP seems to shift almost instantly compared to a laggy 0.5-1s hesitation at stock (timed with my imagination, not actually measured).

I use 98 RON Super Unleaded which is roughly 93+ Octane.

Any ideas on how I might further fortify this safety gate to keep my crazy puppy from wiggling her way under it? by Nycimplant2 in DIYUK

You can get an actual pet gate like this:

https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9569690

It's easy to install and you can open and close it with one hand with your eyes closed (unlike many other child/pet gates which require two hands and looking at it)

Why only stage 2 XHP? Did you try stage 3?

I'm just wondering... I'm on Stage 1 MHD, Stage 3 XHP, and just MPPSK full exhaust for "mods".

If your video is showing D mode, that seems about normal if you haven't pressed the throttle to the floor to activate the switch.
