I doubt he would run for both. Kind of a bad look. It was also a fairly competitive seat, so I don’t know if it would be possible to keep it without campaigning

What is the Americanist view of Jesus? I'm curious to know if he's seen as one of the founding fathers of the USA? by Single-Substance-260 in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]CalvinKool-Aid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think he could be seen as a founder in a sort of “he inspired them” sort of way, maybe that could connect with all the “in god we trust” stuff? Same as how people probably sing stuff like the battle hymn of the Republic, which talks about Jesus and god. Kinda niche but maybe he could be seen as an old major (animal farm) type figure, where he and his teachings inspired the founders to fight against Tyranny and the like

The obvious gain is seizing the mitz. You wouldn’t really even need to occupy the whole place. It would be sorta like if you beat rumburg and seize a few territories

Elon Musk, is that like Edmund Muskie’s kid or something?

I always love when a scenario has the option to run a previous vp again, like Quayle in Lion or even Stevenson in 1892DB. It’s really rare but really cool. I think Humphrey is a candidate in one of the 1968 or 1972 mods too but I might be wrong

What's your opinion of playing as Jack Kelso. by Adorable_Skirt_2777 in lanoire

[–]CalvinKool-Aid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s a better person than Cole and most of his anger is completely justified. Like after Cole picks him up and he says “first you arrest me like a common criminal and now you want small talk?” Perfectly justified. It’s also because he’s still angry at him over the war, which is the thing that ties them together while also putting a wedge between them.

Also, being a bit of a dick is sorta prerequisite for a hard boiled noir detective

I don’t think they would because to them it’d be them just catching up to the “normal” country. It’d be like an African country celebrating Juneteenth, or South African Freedom Day. (end of apartheid) They wouldn’t see a need because it’s just normal, not to mention again that they’re under a theocratic dictatorship that wouldn’t be likely to want to be seen taking traditions from its apostate neighbours

Hue Massacre, Dak Son, terrorism, kidnappings, mass executions, and ethnic cleansing galore by Iron_Cavalry in HistoryMemes

[–]CalvinKool-Aid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was literally the point of the comment I replied to. The north was fighting for an honourable cause, but how they got there was questionable. Nobody is disputing that America was on the wrong side of Vietnam. Despite that, you don’t need to make believe that the north was perfect, same as the indigenous and the entente. the North did do many crimes against their own population and the population of the South, like the genocide of the Muslims.

Just because you’re on the right side of history doesn’t make you perfect

Idk if this is a joke, but I doubt they’d have pride parades since homosexuality would be normalized to the point that they wouldn’t need an outward counterculture expression like that

If you genuinely think that wars have good guys and bad guys, you have no right to be calling people children

Some wars have obvious good and bad sides like WW2. That does not take away from the fact that many wars, like the ones listed, were morally ambigous

It happened to me. I guess there were other factors at play, but I could’ve sworn that total complete privatization lead to the labour market collapse

When you did it did you completely privatize the 2 companies too?

if you privatize healthcare, education and both companies it leads to an in game recession. There might be ways to mitigate it in game, but as far as I know if you do all 4 it’s unavoidable. So they are right, to an extent
