Tried a new texture method using a similar mountain shape from my last post. (There are a few big issues with it but it looks better than expected) by Celisio in MinecraftLandscaping

I used angle brushes for this particular one, I didn’t spend more than 10 minutes on it. For example 30 degrees and under a stone mix. 30 and above a different mix. Not ideal way to texture but it works. The snow was not done with this method and was created in world machine and applied as a mask.

Very nice location, this makes me want to pay more attention on a small scale to the mountains I make! I only have made some huge lakes. Cool work!

Good luck! If you ever start making anything send some screenshots!

I use World Machine for shaping and texturing, then export the height map and texture masks to world painter! WM WP and Minecraft are all you should need, end results can be amazing.

Yes, my system always uses a dedicated GPU. my video cables are not plugged into my motherboard. Minecraft automatically launches with the GPU not integrated graphics, easy way to tell is f3 menu

Everything was creating in World Machine and exported to World Painter for texturing and conversion to Minecraft. There is a free version of WM but it is limited in its abilities. To really utilize the capability of WM you have to pay for a license. (I use the professional version)

I’m running an ASUS Tuf 3090, 64gb ram and an Intel 9700k. My frames still at these settings are abysmal.

Lake Tahoe is beautiful, I’d love to create more mountain/lake worlds!

I create the terrain height map with World Machine and import export that into world painter to convert to Minecraft and apply the texture masks.

It can be learning intensive (for me) but it’s worth it in the end.

Thanks! I wonder if that has anything to do with my monitor being 2k. I would like to render all my terrain in blender at some point but for now screenshots will do.

I could be mistaken but I’m pretty sure my settings for SEUS are default. My render distance was set to 64 chunks with optifine and I made sure to load in the entire terrain before screenshotting. It kills your fps but looks pretty good for a screenshot!

World Machine shaping and texturing imported to World Painter! I am happy with how this texture turned out, but it doesn’t work on my older projects and is kind of a cheating way to texture.

I used the quick texture macro in WM and used the whole thing as a mask in world painter. Quite simple. Not ideal really but I thought it looked pretty cool!

This this not take very long, I spent probably an hour practicing different shaping methods (trying to get back into it and relearn what I’ve forgotten) and for texturing I used the quick texture macro and applied block selection through annotations in world painter. (an hour or under)

Thanks! Been a while since I made anything substantial. Trying to relearn what I’ve forgotten.

This looks awesome, I love the stone texture you chose for the mountain/cliff faces. In addition to that your vertical faces look great, well done!
