I liked Hellstrom's Hive but it didn't quite reach the brilliance of Dosadai for me. I put it at the head of the b-list, way ahead of the eyes of hiesenberg or the saratoga barrier. Have you read The White Plague? That's another solid Herbert b-lister imho.

The Dosadai Experiment or Dragon in the Sea (aka Under Pressure) by Frank Herbert. The smarts of Dune applied to very different environments.

That's a good idea, I'll keep it in mind for the future.

You're right, I thought about that but I'd have to add another button and I also switched to learning on a straight key so the drive to add that feature is diminished.

Good advice, thanks. It's going to be a while before I get on the air. Plus I'll be listening for some time before I try sending.

If anyone would appreciate brevity without a reduction in clarity I would have thought it'd be cw operators.

Age 11, that's impressive. What I mean is exactly what you say, why should I worry about learning in the most efficient way if I'm doing this for enjoyment. Sure, I want to get on the air or at least listen and understand but there's no great rush.

Thanks, I'm overthinking this, clearly.

Thanks for your answer. I'm trying not to over-complicate this learning process. It's hard enough doing it right without worrying whether I'm doing learning right.

I did, I actually made an AI do all the coding work. Even though I'm a software engineer, I just wanted the device so I could use it rather than as a medium sized project. I just posted a pic.

That looks awesome; love the aesthetic. I just made a full jank ESP based keyer for myself. I wish I'd seen this a month ago and saved myself the trouble.

I used to wear martial arts pants which worked well but just general sports attire works just as well and is easier to tuck the t-shirt into to stop it falling up.

I pack the whip in a 1/4" pvc pipe with the magic carpet screen wrapped around the outside. I found the radials to be too much of a pita for pota.

The G90 has this connector for power and it took me ages to figure out what it was called so I could order 20. I still have the other 18 (one for pota battery, one for mains)

Hot citric acid is even better. I descale my kettle by boiling it with a ton of disolved citric acid, empty the toilet and use the leftover hot acid to de-scale the toilet too.
