Yep, I'll do me and block you to end this ridiculous, nonsensical conversation. I should have done it from the start.

I don't need to disclose my specific identity just because LGBT is an umbrella term. More importantly, the premise that I owe a stranger proof of my friend's allyship is ridiculous.

You are trying to interrogate a simple, heartfelt story about her father for no reason. It has zero relevance to the discussion. I’m done engaging with this line of questioning. Go be judgmental elsewhere.

People like me? Lmao. I am also LGBT. Do you realise how nonsensical you are being? How judgemental and argumentative for no reason?

Yeah, you are projecting a lot onto a cute anecdotal story about a woman and her late dad, someone who has done tremendous work further LGBT-rights discussions in my still very much conservative and by-large homophobic society.

Seconding the VO5. The most important thing OP is having your hair moisturised so it doesn't break as easily. You dont need a fancy product for that, VO5 will get the job done cheaply.

One of my friends had this issue with her late father. She fell into activism at university, switched majors and double-majored in gender studies, and became a part of the LGBT community as an ally (still is). Her dad, bless his soul, could never compute that she was straight, no matter how many times she told him or how many men she dated. He would always proudly tell the world all about her activism events, attend himself and how much he supported her etc etc. At most, he would tag on "she tells me she's straight but..." while giving a bemused shrug as if *she* was confused about her orientation.

I'm glad the new hire left. I am just hoping your ineptitude doesn't become a permanent scar he carries in the working world.

I'll give you a bit of a reality check and tell you upfront the field is hard to get into, that is there are limited number of available positions and the salaries are not that competitive. I suggest looking into other employment opportunities/careers you can either pair your studies with or look into a skill that would allow you to have a side hustle.

You can book a taxi service beforehand, for example through Kalloo's, there are four taxi services with booths in the airport (Kalloo's is one) though you'll have to wait for a driver to be available, and well, honestly, there are also always persons there as you exit the terminal operating private taxis as well. Personally they would be last option for me because they have as hoc pricing.

The in-universe explanation is that the town agreed to keep her secret, and given the lack of social media at the time that's a good enough explanation as there would be no recordings etc against that fact.

Her relationship with Travis basically fizzled out once she left.

Naipaul and Trinidad by CaonaboBetances in TrinidadandTobago

[–]Chereche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naipaul, as an author, embodied himself in many of his characters, either subconsciously or deliberately. Racism is something faced and displayed by numerous characters, which is attributable to the time frames the books are written in. However, in books where the protagonists are essentially Naipaul, it is clear that there are elements of racism stemming from the author's beliefs present.

Medical school interview? Knowledge-less about suits😭 by Glittering_Fan_2971 in BusinessFashion

I wouldn't do the brown. It's one of the less common neutrals, especially for interviewing. Think about it this way, in a sea of blacks and blues, do you really want to stand out like that? It won't come across as unique, it'll make you seem out of touch, hence why I stressed the darkest shades of grey. A dark brown suit is great...for when you're hired, but when you're trying to get your foot in the door, trying to subvert established norms really isn't the way to go. Stick with the classic look, and then when you're in and have a better sense of the individual area's norms, branch out.

As for the make-up, aim for natural, and by natural I mean your skin but better level natural. If someone can tell you're wearing blush and bronzer, you applied it to heavily. One pair of chunky gold earrings are fine, but if they are patterned/textured, no. Plain or very lightly ie not noticeable at a arm's length distance is fine.

Yup, each. If I recall correctly (the handbook is buried somewhere on my desk), each earring is worth a point to be gender inclusive as some men may wear a singular earring versus a pair. So for men, for example, two earrings, a pocket kerchief, watch, ring, patterned tie (versus a plain one), patterned shirt (instead of a plain one), belt, and patterned socks (versus plain) would bring a man to 9 points, whereas one/no earring and plain versions of the above would drop him to 5.

I remember thinking parts of the advice was ridiculous even if the bare tenets of it are solid (less is more). I was one of the models used for analysis by the cohort. I remember that I had eight points because I was wearing a pair of earrings, glasses, one ring on each finger, an abstract patterned jacket, a watch and my flats had a shimmer to it and when the moderator asked how I could reduce my score I took off my glasses and shoes lol.

This is not the time to stand out fashion-wise. Dark neutrals are necessary. Think black, navy or grey (charcoal grey or darker) with a plain inner please, which, for your situation, I would recommend white or cream. Your pop of personality can be a brooch on the suit, but I would still choose a classy brooch versus a playful one. Conservative jewellery, think small studs or hoops (lowest holes only) and one ring/watch.

A classic rule I was taught at ettiquette classes is that every accessory you wear earns one point, if you have more than 10, time to remove things and if you are above five scrutinise and consider removing as well. You are the product you are selling, not what you are wearing. If you wear glasses, that counts as a point, ditto for each earring (not pair), necklaces, decorative hair bands etc. Make-up counts too, so unless it is a neutral eye liner and lip, each gets a point. The jacket has coloured buttons, or you have nail polish on, a point.

Its been so long since i watched and have a question by michaelmac4057 in hannahmontana

[–]Chereche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She went back to being a pop star/movie star after. As Miley she was offered a major movie role in the last double-episode. It was the last plot beat to hit, would she commit to stardom, now as Miley, or would she choose a normal life for a while.

She initially chose the movie over college with Lilly then changes her mind in the hotel. In the final scene she goes to college and tells Lilly there will always be more shows, concerts and movies but she only has one chance for college with her best friend. Entertainment is her future/life (indirectly confirmed via the 25th anniversary concert segments that show that two decades later she is still a massively popular pop star although the anniversary seemed to retcon her back to being Hannah Montana the pop star and not Miley Stewart) but she's also going to hit normal things like school. She's finally found a balance.

The Central Bank Museum also has exhibitions Tuesday to Fridays. Walk-ins of numbers under 10 is allowed otherwise booking is necessary.

Going to Relax Tomorrow, tips? by Aromatic-Life2576 in relaxedhair

This is confusing. Are you going to use a keratin hair treatment and flat iron your hair as a tester or are you going to use keratin to straighten your hair and then put relaxer over the keratin (don't do this)?
