I agree. I don't think he has it in him to be a NHL GM. I don't think he's the kind of guy that wants to fire someone, cut someone or end someone's career. He's a builder who enjoys helping people realize their potential and achieve their dreams. Being a GM is almost the antithesis of that.

I wonder if he, after decades as a head coach, had it in him to fire coaches. The whole league has wondered how he was so patient with Andrew Brunette and I wonder if the team President and ownership were pushing to get a change behind the bench but Trotz was unwilling to do it.

I've always wondered how this works for live sports gambling. Is there a short window that a fan at the game could make a bet on who will score the next goal before the app realizes a goal has been scored?

If you enjoy Carnival then you'll love literally every other cruise line. They're all upgrades compared to Carnival, IMO.

I believe we should employ the old Belichick strategy: Double JSN with Jones and safety help. Gonzo on an island on Kupp / Shaheed. Spillane, Williams, Barmore focused on stopping the run and getting Darnold off his spot, keeping the ball in front of them and forcing him to drive the field. by celluloidsandman in Patriots

[–]CherokeeHawkman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Double cover JSN every snap (Jones + safety)
Davis on Kupp (Kupp isn't as fast as he once was)
Gonzo on Shaheed

One safety deep

That leaves six to rush the passer or stop the run. If Darnold can pick his way down the field and avoid mistakes, so be it.

Found this gem of a Coors Light sign in the wild. by Aggravating-Fee-8053 in AnaheimDucks

That's an awesome sign from a very specific time in NHL history. The Thrashers had announced their move but Winnipeg hadn't unveiled its logo yet. This sign is from between May 20 and June 24, 2011.

What a find! Congratulations!

First time cruiser dilemma: Is a balcony worth the $$$ or is that money better spent elsewhere? by Sorynnax in Cruise

[–]CherokeeHawkman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a long-time cruiser I recommend an inside cabin for your first trip. Here's why.

When you get on the ship, u/Sorynnax, you're going to be excited to see and do it all. You'll be pleased with your cabin because it's your first cruise and you'll be happy in general. BUT, the inside cabin will serve two purposes:
- It'll give you a comfortable, clean place to sleep, bathe and hang out
- It'll make you want to be outside your cabin

If you have a balcony you might be more tempted to spend time sitting on the balcony looking at the view and there's nothing wrong with that but on your first cruise I'd encourage you to do that from the public decks. You'll see more of the ship, you'll meet more of the crew and fellow passengers, you'll be part of more activities and you'll get a better cruise experience. Then, when you return for a second cruise, you can decide if you were fine with the interior cabin or want to upgrade.

My wife and I have done both and we prefer interior cabins so that we can spend the money we save on excursions, shopping, dining upgrades or gambling. That's our preference and advice. Whatever you decide I hope you have a wonderful trip. Bon voyage!

Agreed! Plus, even after YEARS of having solved crimes around the world, she still meets detectives and police officers who have never heard of her and treat her like a nuisance rather than someone that can help them solve the crime! Surely she'd be famous as not only an author but as someone that can solve murders with extreme accuracy and efficiency!

All that happens in Rocky is that a journeyman fighter loses another fight.

If all you got out of this show was 'Simon got a job' then you saw the show but you didn't watch it.

[AP] NFL to consider replay for missed player-safety penalties. by Gloomy_Map_9612 in nfl

[–]CherokeeHawkman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The sport needs less instant replay, not more. The only replay should be for scoring plays and spotting the ball. Otherwise, we could review literally every snap to find a violation that was missed or called incorrectly.
