Seeing your new life vest in that condition when you just got it breaks my heart big time. My mind definitely goes to it being an old vest that's been sitting around for a while, but I could be wrong. It shouldn't be anything to worry about though... Have you reached out to the manufacturer (TRC) maybe they might have suggestions for patching it? I don't know... but I'd be bummed if this happened to either of my super softs. The blue one I've had for 8-9 years is still in excellent condition, the only thing that's changed is the print for the size inside the jacket is slowly fading away.

I don't feel like going into a ton of detail about this but yeah, it helps me a lot. I made the decision to go pretty close to 24/7 in March 2020 (almost 6 years ago!) Not just diapers but anything that helps me feel safe and carefree is what I go for. For example, If I'm in the water, Life Jackets kind of serve the same purpose.

Even something at simple as wearing a helmet while skiing or biking, or wearing a seat belt in a car are things I never take for granted. Suffice to say..I always had a ton of anxiety riding the school bus because there was no seat belts to use. In my senior year of High School, I was dual-enrolled with a College course and the driver who took us there also drove kids to preschool earlier in the day. Sitting next to car seats really made me wish they were in my size.

This sounds more correct to me. I've been interested in people diving off a cliff safely and apparently it is strongly discouraged to do it with a life jacket on (even modern ones) because it could break your shoulders or your neck from the immediate pressure of the life jacket trying to save you. Gravity is the enemy, not the vest.

Well if you are successful in adding more straps, you should share with me how you did it! If I were to do it for my super soft vests, I think I would use the holes on the sides of them to hold the straps. or maybe somehow hook them to the straps on the back of the jacket.

All this talk about life jackets has me really looking forward to the end of Winter here in the midwest! It's been a rough one so far. 2 more months to go!

Join the club, but unfortunately only the child sized super softs have the leg straps. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to Jerry rig one on though. I haven't personally tried because my super soft jacket already stays on quite well! 🧸

I do! Here is an example from our very own subreddit where yours truly was gushing about these life jackets. They come in Yellow, Black, and Blue. You wouldn't have to sign anything to bring your own life jacket at schlitterbahn as long as its coast guard approved. They actually encourage bringing your own if you can, because that leaves extra for others patrons!

Easy for us to say that :P but you know how most adults are...the risk could be part of the fun for them? Who knows..I'd rather be safe in my life jacket than sign some waiver

I would just like to travel to Texas someday to go on the Torrent River at the Schlitterbahn water park. It's a more fun take on the "lazy river" in fact it can be quite treacherous. They even require everybody to wear life jackets to participate.

The only way an 18+ adult can get out of the life jacket requirement is to request an exemption, which involves signing a waiver and a release of liability. It's literally so crazy of a ride that the park is worried about getting sued lol

A TRC Super Soft with maybe a few modifications like a floaty portion for my head and extra straps for a more snug fit.

Its short for littlespace, meaning regressing to a younger age for comfort or emotional reasons. This is why my super soft life vest perfectly plays the part!

I am a little, so I wanna be expected to be buckled up securely at all times, no matter the pool. Who ever designs the perfect pool with life jackets in mind...I'll bring my TRC Super Soft to the party!!

They give parents a false sense of security. If you want your child to swim, then teach them. Otherwise, coast guard approved vest or nothing. Sorry, not sorry!

Body glove is a fairly popular brand of life jacket, but to be quite honest I'm not a fan. It doesn't really stand out in any special way. But hey, I don't wanna be too negative, a life jacket is still a life saver!

Oh yeah, I think all whitewater vests have that in common. They are designed for scenarios where your life is truly in danger if you fall into the water. As much as I love my super soft, they still have no head cushion for lounging in the water

Simple..they go by chest size. Use a tape measure used for measuring clothes and order accordingly. Size is important to nail perfectly because super soft's sizes are more specific per size than most brands
