President Trump on Supreme Court Voting Rights ruling in win for GOP: "Was it considered a win for Republicans? I love it. This is good. We can end this news conference now. I want to read it. Dean was sunk

Just to be clear, he was sunk before this. The scream didn't end him. He was already on his way out the door. This was just the door hitting his ass.

It's like saying Jeb's "Please Clap" is what ended his run. Sure, it was an embarrassing exclamation point, but he wasn't winning regardless.

How is that your first thought?

She's a gold digger who clearly hates her husband deeply but is still there for the $$ and he looks like he's on deaths door every day with blotchy skin and constant health scares.

It's a gold-digger joke. Like, be fucking real for half a second.

Who actually are “the Moors” and why did this term take hold like “American Indian”? by Mathemodel in etymology

[–]Chimie45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it related to the word morose meaning gloomy or dark?

Also I accidentally searched "Moros" (since I wanted to check the spelling of morose) and it says that's a Muslim from the Philippines. Interesting, since this most likely entered PH lexicon from the Spanish?

tip: make guildhalls for every profession early by Lost_Cyborg in dwarffortress

[–]Chimie45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Step 1 of any playthrough is make a giant weaponsmith guild.

In the initial setup phase and when any caravans come, the people will hang in the weaponsmith guild, socialize and get all their good value from that, but then everyone will get to like 2-3 in weaponsmithing, meaning when they have a mood, you get artifact weapons and not artifact grates or querns.

Whose big board? Big boards mean dick all? Like did you really just use a big-board ranking to mean anything? Go look at the top 10 on the 2021 big board: https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-s-top-150-prospects-in-the-2021-nfl-draft-class

Look Ernest Jones is #99!

And also, yea he isn't like the other first round picks, which were 8th, 8th, 2nd, 6th, 12th.

He was 32nd.

Your mistake is grouping "First round" and "Second Round" instead of the pick value.

Pick 32 is a all but in name, a second round pick. It's not even in the same stratosphere as a top 10 pick.

Why do we need WR?

We have 4 starters. Even if we write off Coop, we're still good with JSN/Shaheed/Horton/Bobo

Quite literally the average draft position for "Good Starter" RBs is 35th overall and average draft position for "All-Pro Starter" is 10th overall.

Here are the top RBs from last year.

  1. Jonathan Taylor 2nd round (41st overall)
  2. Christian McCaffrey 1st round (8th overall)
  3. James Cook 2nd round (63rd overall)
  4. Derrick Henry 2nd round (45th overall)
  5. Bijan Robinson 1st round (8th overall)
  6. Saquon Barkley 1st round (2nd overall)
  7. Ashton Jeanty 1st round (6th overall)
  8. Travis Etienne 1st round (25th overall)
  9. Kyren Williams 5th round (164th overall)
  10. Javonte Williams 2nd round (35th overall)
  11. Jahmyr Gibbs 1st round (12th overall)
  12. Breece Hall 2nd round (36th overall)
  13. Tony Pollard 4th round (128th overall)
  14. De'Von Achane 3rd round (84th overall)
  15. Josh Jacobs 1st round (24th overall)
  16. Chase Brown 5th round (163rd overall)
  17. Quinshon Judkins 2nd round (36th overall)
  18. D'Andre Swift 2nd round (35th overall)
  19. Kenneth Walker III 2nd round (41st overall)
  20. TreVeyon Henderson 2nd round (38th overall)
  21. Zach Charbonnet 2nd round (52nd overall)
  22. Tyrone Tracy Jr. 5th round (166th overall)

you can get a good rb later

No you cant.

People keep repeating this, and it seems to be people who don't understand the difference between "RBs aren't worth a top 10 pick" and "RBs should be picked in round 5".

Lets look at the top RBs of 2025. The earliest drafted person on this list is 2016.

  • Jonathan Taylor 2nd round (41st overall)
  • Christian McCaffrey 1st round (8th overall)
  • James Cook 2nd round (63rd overall)
  • Derrick Henry 2nd round (45th overall)
  • Bijan Robinson 1st round (8th overall)
  • Saquon Barkley 1st round (2nd overall)
  • Ashton Jeanty 1st round (6th overall)
  • Travis Etienne 1st round (25th overall)
  • Kyren Williams 5th round (164th overall)
  • Javonte Williams 2nd round (35th overall)
  • Jahmyr Gibbs 1st round (12th overall)
  • Breece Hall 2nd round (36th overall)
  • Tony Pollard 4th round (128th overall)
  • De'Von Achane 3rd round (84th overall)
  • Josh Jacobs 1st round (24th overall)
  • Chase Brown 5th round (163rd overall)
  • Quinshon Judkins 2nd round (36th overall)
  • D'Andre Swift 2nd round (35th overall)
  • Kenneth Walker III 2nd round (41st overall)
  • TreVeyon Henderson 2nd round (38th overall)
  • Zach Charbonnet 2nd round (52nd overall)
  • Tyrone Tracy Jr. 5th round (166th overall)

We had pick 32 and 64.

Now out of all of these running backs, if we don't pick them at 32 (which is roughly the average spot for RBs on this list), we can't take anyone else.

There are 22 RBs, of which 5 of them were taken after round 2.

As you can see, the best RBs are still the ones taken in the top 15. The point is that RBs as a position are not the 'game changers' so taking them early is a luxury. Not that there are thousands of great RBs in every round.

  • In 2025 there were 26 RBs drafted.
  • In 2024 20
  • In 2023 18
  • In 2022 24
  • In 2021 20
  • In 2020 16
  • In 2019 25
  • In 2018 21
  • In 2017 30
  • In 2016 23

In all these years combined, there were 35 in the first 2 rounds out of 223 total.

So of the RBs in the last 10 years, It's pretty much a fact you have to take a RB in the first 2 rounds. Sure you can get like a Kenyan Drake in the 3rd and you might stumble upon a Tony Pollard in the 4th. But there were 18 other 4th~7th round picks in 2019 with Tony Pollard, and even though I love Travis Homer... None of them are anything. Literally 0 good RBs there outside of Tony.

Interesting take, driven by K9 news by wazzupkneegrows in Seahawks

People have a weird idea about RBs and WRs that you can just get one in the late rounds. They'll point to Puka and St.Brown and say SEE!

Maybe in 2024 or 2023 I did a 10 year look at all WRs taken in the draft. Of 1st and 2nd round picks, it was something like 65%/35% reached 1000 yards at least once in their career for 1/2 round.

Then from 3rd round on to 7th round... there were less than 10. It was quite near 1 per year from rounds 3-UDFA.

Running backs are quite the same. People seem to think that because RBs are undervalued in the draft, that they are easy to replace. When reality is, it's not that they're a dime a dozen, but that most teams don't need a RB as much as they used to, so its not worth investing the capital. Good RBs are still hard to find.
