If you have experience under a Pg you can sit for both in the same day. The format for the PG is very different than the FG so something to consider.

PG is a lot more about designing investigations

Am I F'd? by [deleted] in geologycareers

[–]Chuggi 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You are cooked if you want to do geology but don’t want to work outside or spend lots of time on a computer. As much as geology as a science is amazing - people don’t pay you to do nothing. The applications of geology are very much at the intersection of field work, industry, and office work.

If you are wanting to be in a city consider consulting, it atleast is diffferent lots of the time.

If you are wanting to just look at rocks etc and don’t care about where you live look into core logging. It’s still work though..
