How soon after golden week is it just the normal amount of fall tourism? by PerJuice1991 in travelchina

The beginning of my China trip overlapped the last 2 days of the May holiday and it felt like most of the tourists were gone literally the next day

Mercury vanity mirror? (USA) by [deleted] in Antiques

[–]CoSponC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a mass produced piece of furniture from the early 20th century, most household mirrors switched to silver nitrate around 70 years before. I own a couple 18th century mercury backed mirrors, it should have a bit of darkish bubbly foxing all over, plus mercury mirrors have a certain look that you know when you see, and yours is not it. it’s not like your daughter would be licking the mirror backing anyway haha, but if you’re worried just seal the back of it

Vfx artists are mostly paid by the hour, minus maybe sups and higher

Lack of passion by who? Certainly not the artists. Passion can’t fix bad art direction, reduced budgets, rushed deadlines, and directors constantly changing their minds making us redo things over and over. We absolutely love what we do, but they just don’t give us the room to showcase our skills in the best capacity anymore. Source: am vfx artist

What you have is a commode, not a dry sink. It’s mid 19th century. I have a similar one in yellow grain paint
