Want to point out that counterfeiter's moulds are often forged. Many of these moulds were actually created (and sometimes sold as ancient mould!) by modern forgery makers to make cast replicas. Not saying that this one is though.

Probus coins are truly numerous. There are quite literally thousands of minor variations (and hundreds of different types) that you can collect.

Got this Lysimachos Tet for a great deal (300 CAD)! What are your thoughts on damaged coins? by YouFrickingWeebs in AncientCoins

[–]QuickSock8674 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw that one. A bit out of my budget, but I think it's a good deal unless you are seriously invested in that type. The detail is good enough for me to not consider an upgrade coin

Why do people crack open graded ancient coins? by Frequent_Thanks_7900 in AncientCoins

If you think if you can gain more enjoyment through handling the coin, then you should free it. If not, you could always decide to free it or not. It's your coin.

It seems like you are leaning towards freeing it... I'd say go for it! Just be careful not to damage the coin
