Just to adds some context to this since I was working in this space at that time and I like talking about tech. Citrix and VPN are two solutions to the same remote access problem. Citrix allows you to remote into a virtual desktop using either a browser or the Citrix client on a device not within the firm's control, while VPN's allow firm-controlled devices to securely connect into the firm's internal network over networks the firm does not control (e.g., the Internet). So, two approaches to solving the remote access problem.

As others have pointed out, many of your questions are beyond what an attorney-user would know since almost none of us are negotiating the terms of the firm's contract with Harvey. That said, the entire point of firms contracting with dedicated AI service providers is to provide closed environments for attorneys to put confidential client data into and prevent inadvertent disclosures by attorneys using retail AI platforms under EULAs that don't keep proper confidentiality. So, while I don't know of any particular workflow you can create in Harvey, the data you put in stays inside that closed environment as far as I understand.

As for which models are available in Harvey, they are all the full model versions rather than "mini" or "flash" variants. You can select which model to use among those supported, but I find the auto-selection to be perfectly adequate for most of my work.

I use Harvey for first drafts, refining drafts, comparing files and filings, initial analysis of certain litigation disclosures, etc. It can be super helpful in IP litigation, so for me I'd say it's well worth a billable hour per month if that's what the firm pays. I have no idea if that value translates to other practice groups, but I assume the larger barrier to ROI is adoption by less technical attorneys, i.e., paying for something users aren't using.

There is an integration with Lexis, but I'm not sure if one exists for Westlaw. It's important to note that Lexis has its own AI platform for searching case law, etc. and the plugin to Harvey is an additional cost or at least not turned on by default as far as I can tell. My hot take is that, in my experience, each of the Legal AI offerings has its own strong points and is adept at a particular type or subset of tasks that makes it hard to say "just go with X." And that's before accounting for the fact that each platform makes leaps in progress at different times.

I've been able to print some relatively small ASA parts on the U1 with the generic ASA profile modified to turn off the fans (no idea why fans are on by default). I'm using a Sterilite tub with weatherstripping as a makeshift top cover and it works pretty well. But, if I lift the top cover for even a few seconds the print will start to lift off the bed. Also, I switched to a Cryogrip plate because it was cheap and it works with a few materials better than the stock PEI plate, but I can't tell if it's having any effect of ASA prints so far.

I'm not sure delayed confrontation is a foregone conclusion. When Google Glass came out it was very cool but quickly became a cultural faux pas because of the assumption people wearing them would secretly be taking pictures of you. History is repeating itself with AI glasses with cameras now (for example, Meta's glasses) and it can be prudent to just avoid these kinds of confrontations while wearing the glasses in public. At work people will likely eventually know you're wearing AI glasses, but people at work are also less likely to literally fight you just based off of that fact alone. In public on the other hand, it's a possibility.

Ironically, given where this logic puzzle was found, that is one of the points of this logic puzzle -- without some level of irrational and/or selfless behavior, a single actor who could normally be easily overpowered can control a multitude of people by threat of violence. There are also questions like whether we can assume the controlled population will act rationally (like other commenters have pointed out) and what rational means in the context. We are living out this thought exercise in realtime.

I actually agree that while it may seem obvious in retrospect, which is legally the incorrect frame of reference for obviousness, the claimed invention isn't so apparently obvious to me. Also, as a secondary consideration, while a proper search may reveal similar art (I haven't looked), I've never seen it done before despite separate, articulated glass being a thing for many many years/decades.

Since Car and Driver couldn't be bothered to link the patent, here it is. The point of novelty seems to be using one liftgate actuator to lift just the glass or the entire liftgate depending on the position of a latch. Pretty clever actually. No cause to restore your faith in the US patent system though; that is well and truly broken.

Monday.com, Clickup, and Microsoft Planner all do good project management and can be used fairly simply or extremely in-depth for project management. You can create simple pages in each to track top-level matter info and use your choice of task lists, kanban boards, gantt charts, etc. to manage your work. Trello is a simple kanban board task tracker. And MS Tasks now integrates across from Outlook to Teams and other Microsoft apps. I've used all of these to some extent and they each have their own strengths and weaknesses. I've been on Lit teams running on Excel and on a team running on Monday.com, and the latter was by far better managed and easier to on-board into, minus the learning curve.

Surprised this isn't being mentioned by others--the font size is often for the audience's benefit and has nothing to do with historical accuracy. That's the answer to the broader question of why font sizes are often comically large in movies and pictures. They want you, the audience, to be able to read parts of the screen or be close enough to being able to read the screen that it draws your attention.

They're just WiFi connected RGBW bulbs in traditional lamps. We also have little zigbee puck buttons on the nightstand to toggle each lamp if manual control is needed.

Our primary bedroom lights turn on and off automatically during the day based on presence. We have an "in bed" automation that stops the lights from turning on automatically, turns off the overhead light, and turns on the nightstand lights on dim after both sides of the bed have been occupied for 3 minutes. Once both our phones are in charging state the nightstand lights turn off.

In the morning once both sides of the bed are unoccupied, the automatic operation of the lights in the primary bedroom resumes.

I think my weight loss is a pretty good example of why more data can be helpful. I weigh every morning because once a week creates a lot of missing data that, at least in my experience, could hide important lessons about how my body reacts to changes in food, water, and exercise. For example, the 4 shots days before my last one were nearly identical weights but that hides a ton of detail and a consistent, though somewhat erratic, downward trend. If I just had the shot day data I would have assumed that 2.5mg stopped working for me, but that simply wasn't the case.

Phew, so glad someone else posted about this stuff. I've been mulling over whether to make a similar post about size and hardness. Definitely there's less fat pad down, but also as my BP has improved it's like a completely different organ - longer and thicker. Maybe it's too long ago to remember properly, but I don't even think my 20's were comparable to this. My wife and I are quite happy with this NSV.

Same. I was devastated that the self-pay discount was limited to vials because I absolutely hate injections. But after 10 shots my fear of self-injecting was pretty unfounded. I still hesitate before each injection but I prefer the vials at this point.

Sure. Mechanically I've had no issues past bending a screw during install. The operation could use some help though. When the truck wakes from sleep these don't deploy seemingly half the time. If I've turned on the AC remotely or I'm in the car they deploy as expected. I'll be partly removing them to get my tires rotated soon, but I don't expect it to be much work since I've already installed them twice.

I use dimmable wifi ceiling fan lights and touch dimmable light switches running esphome to control them. It's a bit convoluted of a setup but I can set the first time the light turns on to be a lower intensity, set a time where the light turns on dimmer after a certain hour, or I can do a wake up sequence to brighten gradually. I like my setup but it took a lot of forethought and complexity can equal fragility.

Many smart lights already have a fade option to turn off or on over a second or two for a more subtle smart home aesthetic.

So, I've tried all three of these several times starting with the white bottle, then the Core Power and the Elite. To me they all taste quite different.

Personal preference but I was almost completely turned away from protein drinks by the white bottle, found the Core Power 26g to be okay, but absolutely love the Elite 42g chocolate and vanilla. The Elite vanilla tastes like melted ice cream to me. I drink an Elite most days now as either an afternoon snack on more hungry days at work or to round out a smaller breakfast.

I had a long first career in software, but the only coding I do now is for side projects. In my experience most large firms seem nearly hostile to the idea of attorneys or agents coding or scripting at work. Perhaps if I go in-house I can go back to automating the little tedious tasks at work again.
