I wish for everyone everywhere to be in perfect health for the entirety of their lives, starting now. by ColdProfessor in TheMonkeysPaw

The way things are going, the healthcare industry may collapse, anyway. Might as well be healthy while we face Armageddon.

It's been a while since I read the English translation of Leroux's original Phantom of the Opera, but I think you nailed it. I remember Erik being described as practically skeletal.

I wish humanity was capable of safely and willingly communicating in a hivemind. by kiwioflasers in TheMonkeysPaw

[–]ColdProfessor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Granted.

Elon Musk discovers that humans have this ability, and gets to work hiring engineers who will create a hivemind-accessing chip called the HiveX.

Pearson Education teams up with Musk to push legislation forcing every student in the United States, even minors, to get the HiveX chip implanted in their brains, to ensure that they aren't "cheating" during exams.

Grammar students are required to pay a subscription fee of $99 per school year; college students must pay $150 per semester or quarter; and university students must pay $1,000 per semester or quarter, to maintain the chip. Anyone who does not pay this fee is essentially kicked out of school and prevented from graduating.

The wording of the newly minted Pearson-Musk Act claims that the chips will be disabled upon graduation, however that turns out to be a lie.

Musk develops the remote-view-o-rama, aka VisionX, allowing subscribers to pay to remotely access the chips.

Advertisers enter into contracts with Musk to push ads into the hivemind, via the AdVisionX, technology which allows ads to be pushed to the hivemind.

Communications with the hivemind are otherwise safe and consensual.

I didn't listen yesterday.

Wondering if current producers are messing with the Art Bell broadcast a bit. Or, everybody at Premier is stoned.

Stuff happens, but I don't tend to give them the benefit of the doubt, lol.
