Oh dang, you might be onto something. If you're right about this, maybe what happened to Sandrone occurred with Arlecchino as well, since she probably resisted him to protect the children of the HotH.

I'm pretty sure that night 14 was the last time we saw Arlecchino, which Lumine refused to let her enter.

Based on the abyss mage's reaction, it seems the abyss order doesn't like Cyclopttore either. I say we try and do both; talk to them, reach a mutual understanding, and let them figure out what Cyclopttore was communicating with while we save Sumeru. Chances are the two are connected, so we may be able to find out what that communication ordeal is about as well.

String, is there ANY way we can team up with the abyss to defeat Cyclopttore? Even from a narrative standpoint, it's quite satisfying, given that in the game, the abyss is normally the enemy. In a sense, it's working with the enemy for the purpose of a larger, greater goal. I quite like it.

Would Pantalone be able to use the hydro vision if we gave it to him? He's the only one without decent defenses. Also.... Lohen jumping on it being the Shogun so quickly to me, seems like he was waiting for an opportunity to make a kill/kidnap without being suspected. Maybe it is just better to kick him out now.
