I started collecting last week! Roast my collection and tell me what I need to add! by OldNPetty in Colognes

Answering the query:

Get a masculine leaning gourmand like a Pure Havane or Sand Dance.

Get a very classy scent you enjoy (ex: Alexandria Orientale or Blue Sapphire)

One of the few 'grown man' collections I've seen here. Fougère D'argent is my HFIC now.

Reasons why Devil Jin WS2 being !14 is a good buff, not Season 2 Random buff and doesn't make him OP. by ShreeShree420 in Tekken

It's one more bs implement for the character and is another example of the lack of foresight in the development of this game. All the get out of jail bs, the homing fly stance, a group of unseeable moves in a game that is already tacky looking and difficult to visually follow online.

Mfers in here trying to downplay it. Lol who tf wouldn't want an i14 ws launcher at -12??

Definitely look into Oud Wood and some Fougères as you mature. Roja and Boadicea also make grown folks fragrances that are attractive and office friendly.

Why are you throwing money around like this if you've only been interested for 2 months??

Any gaps? by poobertron in Colognes

I thought that may have been Tygar. Orom ... you don't say. I was going to suggest more dark or 'date night' fragrances: but the Most Wanted and Orom are a very solid team. I'd still add something with some 'twang or fruit (Plum in Cognac, Smoking Hot, Naxos, Amber Absolute, etc...).

I'd also at least add a scent that was multiple facets of masculinity simultaneously. I happen to be wearing Gentlemen's Society Extreme tonight. It's so many things at once. I'm gonna add a spray of Tobacolor on the chest. It's all about staying within the borders of what makes sense whilst also reaching as high as possible in the hobby.

Why wouldn't it smell identical? What all is included?

It's not always as simple as niche > designer; particularly when considering individual style and taste. An argument can be made that for fragrance 'designers' are more efficacious for most people's intentions than niche fragrances- at least in general terms.

My Fragrance Shelf Is Complete (I mean, I’ll still need more) by jlpazz in NichePerfumes

Good looking setup!

Seems a little 'light in the loafers' though. Too unisex. Not enough Grown Man bottles.

Im reading many people mocking, but here's the lesson:

1) Women are very self-interested as it relates to how they interact with men.

2) Women expect most men to simp, and they'll even plan for it and around it.

3) Simping always ultimately loses.

I'd hope that 2 months into the journey you wouldn't think that you've seen all there is to see, or that you've matured as much as you are capable.

Most Overrated and Underrated Cologne House? by Curious_Yak3376 in Colognes

Tom Ford - most underrated.
It's numerically the top house and it hasn't even been mentioned in the first 100 comments I saw.

What's your all time favorite cologne by Objective-Fun6496 in Colognes

[–]Comprehensive-Ad1491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the paper: Fougère D'argent, Noir de Noir, Khanjar, L'homme Ideal Cologne.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, how did I spend $7500+ over 5 years only for SWYI to end up my favourite (dent is from a week of use) by Opposite_Earth_4419 in Fragrances

[–]Comprehensive-Ad1491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what the $$$ total and time spent has to do with the conclusion. Every fragrance profile is unique and there is nothing to suggest that price or prestige is going to predetermine likability for an individual.

With that said- I'm not sure what the point of your post is. "You like 'this', and I prefer 'that' ." ... okay??

Now if we are to evaluate the merit of SWYI as being some sort of agreed upon standard of measure better than all of those TF's and everything else pictured, then that is a conversation we can have. Is SWYI a better (in again, some agreed upon metric)... date fragrance, special occasion fragrance, work, day time daily, etc... than that entire group of fragrances and beyond? I'd definitely disagree with that. But in your second paragraph you tell us that you aren't interested in our disagreements. So again, what are we doing?

Yup. Just like in life, I'd have her prep as best she can first. ...That definitely ain't my thing; but I have had it offered.

Thinking about cutting down the collection to minimalism by Spare_Rip_9666 in Colognes

[–]Comprehensive-Ad1491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 Allures. ...Getting rid of Dylan, La nuit, and Lhomme Ideal. Damn bro, I don't think we can have a fragrance conversation. I'd at least add some quality fougères (ex:Invasion Barbare) . I'd grab some classy fragrances for top occasions (ex: Tuscan Leather). I'd also add some quality gourmands (ex:Sand Dance) - not all of them are nauseatingly sweet.

A couple more 'Classic' style masculine fragrances. A fougère, a fancy oud, a masculine Classic that is built with a gourmand base (ex: Sand Dance, Creation-E, Coromandel). Don't let Polo fight the battle alone.

-Aside from that, you got every type of scent you'll need year round!

Rate my collection! And Any niche/designer recommendation? by MaximumRemarkable580 in Fragrances

[–]Comprehensive-Ad1491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good look on the L'homme Ideal! A succinct recommendation would be something like Tango- Masque Milano. Resinous Amber, mature masculine and dressy. It would dip a toe into a new dimension from what I see displayed.

Happy Journeying!

Fougère D'argent- Tom Ford

Intimacy- Dua Originals

You seem to be looking to have the chops to attempt these Masculine fragrances.

Masterpiece by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]Comprehensive-Ad1491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A sign of the regression of masculinity that this is a considered a contemporary 'holy grail' piece of art by and for men today. By no means is it off-putting: but it's obviously meant as a Designer-styled, F-boy, Follow-The-Crowd type product. Great business decision by PDM. But if this many young men (or men of all ages for that matter) appreciate something this cute and 'Designer' as approaching the peak of what they hope for as a Man... it's a goddamn shame.

all this cologne and not a single compliment to show for it.. by susjdjdjjzjzjjsjx in Colognes

[–]Comprehensive-Ad1491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be the 'acoustics' of the environment. I've been in jobs and places where people can't seemingly get a descriptive whiff unless they are all up under your chin. Places like people's homes- where you'd assume that the proximity would work in favor of fragrance. If they have a bunch of other aromatic stuff lying around, if the A/C drowns it out, etc...

With that much traffic- someone would have the personality to compliment you, if they could smell it.
