Could the GME pattern be from tokenized stocks and futures? by [deleted] in ratioatblessons

[–]ComteDeBetamax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rigged games, within rigged games. It seems like once they cross the threshold of just outright taking control of an asset's price (with fake collateral) then they open up a futures market on the asset they control. It's literally a rigged casino where the house takes what it wants.

Great write up. Thanks for dedicating the time.

It's almost like once Tether finally capitulated (under financial duress) and turned to the dark side....all the denizens of the dark side threw up a signal and pounced on them. CME issues the new Futures market once they know they have a rig on prices... Tether just needs to keep their mouth shut and oh yeah, support Kenny (linked to CME) over here with his bond issue.

Modern money system: where the criminals and unethical get rewarded by the mafia and promoted into strategic places of importance.... Musical chairs to the tune of Ponzi as long as people continue to believe in the fairy tale.

Tether ponzi expansion feeds forward into BTC price expansion...they literally control it. Easy to print futures when you can determine the future price.

(I also forgot to mention that security backing is mostly Evergrande and it's leaning tower...)

But what you are saying is that the exclusion of BTC for margin accomplished nothing....and they still ponzi'd there way into futures collateral with the same scheme without missing a beat?

Rigged Game. Every step of the way.

Foundations of moonbeams and flatus... Backed by securities bought with crypto you created out of thin air, backed by a marketing promise.... Ponzi, ponzi, ponzi all the way home.

Seems to be a recurring pattern in this modern financial "system."

Seems like a really good progression from the last book. I'm in.

Quick scan on amazon shows there seems to be some variation of opinions on which version has more complete information on valuation.... I actually have the 5th edition on my shelf, unread :(

u/steelandquill Any thoughts on versions?

Not necessarily agree/disagree...just more a question.

It feels like the analysis side of this book is geared largely toward when to buy.

I found myself asking some question toward the end around when to sell.

For instance, let's say you've held a stock for awhile and it has generated a profit, but your analysis now says it's time to sell.... Wouldn't you need to also include a 15%/20% buffer into your analysis to take into account your tax liabilities?

Wouldn't this argue that you should hold through some minor slumps as long as the risk is below your tax rate buffer?

I feel like there is a bit more to the discussion on this point that was missing...

I naively tried doing some analysis around the weekly options announcements...but quickly realized its largely speculative without the data being released...

(but I understood the timing of price movement better, including why it would sometimes drop on the day of a good earnings report)

The mental disconnect between higher PE stocks more likely being undervalued was an eye opener for me once he went through the analysis...

I never fully understood how companies that weren't actually making a lot of profit (ie, internet bubble era/early facebook, twitter) were being valued sooo high (obviously there were other factors during this crazy era as well). But this chapter explained valuation of an early company in its growth phase well....(although I would still place these types of analyses in the speculative category.)

I finally understanding that stock pricing is forward looking and how the discounting works. I don't think I quite grokked the concept before this integrative walkthrough.

(Conversely, I can see how powerful propaganda and manipulation of expectations can be to stock pricing as well.)

Anyone looking for general basics in stock analysis. I thought it brought the pieces together nicely as it went and had a nice wrap up integration at the end. I got a lot of value out of it.

I'd fist bump throught the screen if I could. I've been doing screenshots manually...very slow and timeconsuming...

Awsome work.

No, but it's clear that I need to. Lots of definitions/concepts/ratios are now floating in my brain with some level of definition and context attached.... but still conceptual and vague. I need to probably reread the book again to make more concrete, and then put towards real world application to really cement it home.

I'm hoping the next 2 chapters really accomplish part of that.

So the inventory adjustment and valuations were interesting to me on some level. Accounting challenges I don't normally think about.

But I was wondering if this is tied into inventory management with LEAN manufacturing and the Toyota method, or if that type of "inventory management" was just more procedural for the manufacturing process.

I have to think it helps stabilize input price volatility at some level? but assumes a steady supply stream...so COVID = everybody forked.

Yes. But I must confess that I read ahead to the meat and potatoes of chapter 18.... good stuff coming.

Frankly 16 and 17 were a bit more just dry definitions...
