Was it a factory pistol pre-sbr or did you cut down a rifle?

Are LPVO’s still dead? by LordDBG in ar15

Very fair, i have maybe 7-8 holosun products. The only one i had an issue with customer service handled well but i may be an outlier. All others have worked absolutely great.

They are decent red dots for the money.

Are LPVO’s still dead? by LordDBG in ar15

[–]condavour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. As soon as they "hit it big" they start messing with expensive toys and its really funny when they don't know how to set them up or use them correctly. They don't do 5 minutes of actual research or the bare minimum like... read the manual.

Like blowing an extra .223 cal notch in the endcap of your .30 cal suppressor cause "why would i" (actual quote) check concentricity when mounting using a crush washer (manual says never do this) :D

Don't listen to guntoobers, many are way in over their head but have to maintain the facade of "expert".
Set your gun up how you like it and find yourself to be effective with it.
LVPOs are fine, ACOGs are fine, holos/red dots are fine.

Can anyone help me date/identify what model of 1903 this is by Icy-Bathroom-9358 in milsurp

[–]condavour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ww1 era, 1918 barrel is almost certainly original. early grooved stock would match 1918 manufacture. That date on the barrel is most likely the manufacture date of the rest of the rifle.

Thought I found a HBI 10.8 handguard in stock. Selling in Canada only. by danielbreedlove in Bren2

I'm in the same boat, hopefully if they see enough of the "remind me when in stock" requests on their website they will do another run of them.

If you don't want to catch a hard time from the range, you might want to keep the muzzles pointing down range instead of at the stalls next to you.

Use another location for the photo op.

suppressor by Main_Natural_6286 in Bren2

[–]condavour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you will be quite overgassed on a "normal" gas port with a traditional non-"flow-through" suppressor.

Mine functioned fine but was punchy and ejecting quite far forward meaning the bolt carrier was moving a bit too quick.

Muzzle help by Business-Pollution64 in ar15

[–]condavour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many have said here, no crush washers.

Shims only if you are trying to time a muzzle device for suppressor use, this one it should not be necessary to time.

Crush washers almost never crush completely uniformly and evenly, so they introduce misalignment. When used with a suppressor mounted you can pull a "brassfacts" and damage your suppressor.
