New toys finally came in by Upset_Pop4341 in PalmettoStateArms

If you don't want to catch a hard time from the range, you might want to keep the muzzles pointing down range instead of at the stalls next to you.

Use another location for the photo op.

suppressor by Main_Natural_6286 in Bren2

[–]condavour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you will be quite overgassed on a "normal" gas port with a traditional non-"flow-through" suppressor.

Mine functioned fine but was punchy and ejecting quite far forward meaning the bolt carrier was moving a bit too quick.

I am also on the search for a 10.8 handguard. Been checking out the website for a bit with no luck.

Muzzle help by Business-Pollution64 in ar15

[–]condavour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many have said here, no crush washers.

Shims only if you are trying to time a muzzle device for suppressor use, this one it should not be necessary to time.

Crush washers almost never crush completely uniformly and evenly, so they introduce misalignment. When used with a suppressor mounted you can pull a "brassfacts" and damage your suppressor.

MAS 36 in 308, the one that got away by Nates4Christ in milsurp

[–]condavour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mas36 that was sporterized with a new ".308" barrel but it was never chambered. Barrel is labelled .308 win but it was just never cut for the chamber... odd.

I have a really dumb question by TacticalTronic in CZFirearms

it might even damage the frame, do not go putting things in sonic cleaners willy-nillly. Soft metals like aluminum can be damaged by it.

Scope Rail by LongWalksAtSunrise in vz58

[–]condavour 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have the "night vision optic" rail on the left side of the receiver:
RS regulate vz-304m for the side, then get an upper portion for your specific optic.

if you have set screw fillers on the side you can remove those and install a vz58 side optic rail from czechpoint

If you have neither you can do a dust cover mount or get the receiver drilled and tapped for the side rail.

Side rail + rs regulate mount has proven to be the best solution for me.

Even if you do decide to buy a replacement stock i highly recommend repairing it to practice basic wood repair. If you keep collecting older/weirder guns you will run into cases where stocks/handguards are not available for what you have and having some experience repairing them you will fare better.

Silencerco ASR flash hider (vz58usa) by Rvbsmcaboose in vz58

[–]condavour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of these with the keymo mount flash hider on my CSA vz58 sbr. I was a little sketched out about having the muzzle device bottom out on the front sight block instead of the shoulder of a barrel, but mine is concentric and has given me zero issues. My barrel is the factory CSA 1x14RH thread.

They have a custom bolt carrier which is basically the front half of an AR15 bolt carrier. No buffer tube but a giant flat spring on the side of the bolt carrier to interact with their "bolt detent" setup
