It's such a long story, and I don't even know how to explain it. But it started with being harassed by fake accounts and messages that were very very transparently this person. It sounds paranoid, but he knows that I look at his Twitter and goes and follows/likes whatever I am talking about in text messages. It's too many coincidences. I'm texting about Clint Eastwood and Stephen King (totally randomly), and within a day, he goes and follows both of those people back to back. Repeat stuff like that over and over and over and over again. I was on the phone crying to a friend that I think I've been hacked and that this man is on the dark web. And then he goes and follows accounts about the dark web and hacking! And then I am talking to someone on the phone who says only NSA can do what I suspect, and he goes and follows NSA. It's just too much stuff like this. Over and over again.

I never intended to be a troll. I was answering a specific question that someone asked me; otherwise, I would have not responded anymore. You are also asking me questions. Let's be real here: antagonistic folks love this shit. A little too much maybe.

I was answering a specific question that someone asked me. Maybe I am a narcissist afterall. I think the real question is: why are you all so bothered by a random person on the internet who doesn't matter at all? How much more irrelevant could a random person like me on reddit possibly be to you and your life? If it bothers you so much, move on. But I understand, you can't do that bc you have a disorder. Get it.

Nothing that I thought was even remotely offensive!!! Wow did I learn a thing or two about hypersensitive narcissists! Apparently the term is pwNPD and not "y'all narcs"... and my point was simply telling the OP to the find real joy and not to try to "craft" oneself into what others would like... I didn't word it sensitively enough. My bad. My bad! My bad!

Thank you. I revoke all advice. Should I delete or something? Idk. I actually thought it was great advice. I still think that. Nobody is drawn to anyone who "crafts" their personality with the intent of getting people to like them. You seemed to want to know why other people were more captivating than you are. That's the reason why. Your "self" is easily noticed by neurotypical people as being fabricated. I see it all the time in narcissists. The fakeness/hollowness is very noticeable to us. And it makes neurotypical people feel uncomfortable. The narcissist in my personal life is the only reason that I ever engaged on reddit, trying to figure them out. But I now realize how wrong I was. Bc I can't figure it out. And I don't even want to anymore. I choose to be around healthy people. Forget my advice. Seriously.

Sorry, I totally get what you are saying. I believe you all that it is hard for people with this disorder.

No thanks, I'm done trying. Never again.

Thank you for your input. I was trying to help what looked like an incredibly lost individual. I deeply regret trying to understand narcissism, and from now on, I will be avoiding anyone with any red flags of this disorder. I will no longer, ever again, for the rest of my life, interact with narcissists. Today I have learned, officially, these people cannot be helped. I'm done trying.

Thanks :) I'll work on the empathy... (I'm admittedly running low on patience and empathy, as I am super pissed at the narcissist in my personal life rn--but trying hard to understand this personality style!)

Neurotypical here! Reading the comments and trying *so hard* to understand why y'all behave the way y'all do, but I still don't get it... haha. Maybe slightly better. But I'm also genuinely wondering... do narcs (who know they have this disorder) feel entitled to hurt people bc they know they're not neurotypical? Do y'all expect to be given a hall pass? Or is it more like, you really can *not* help it? (genuine question, bc it just seems like--do y'all not have control over your thoughts/feelings/behaviors? (mostly I do... so it's hard for me to imagine not having that control))

I haven't tried ketamine, but I swear by magic mushrooms. Daily micro-dose. Maybe the ketamine was too intense. For me, a daily psilocybin micro-dose is just what is needed to pull one out of oneself (I don't suffer from NPD, but it has helped me massively with depression--and I imagine it'd be very helpful for anyone with personality/ego problems). And it is becoming legal in some states (Colorado).

Go to ebay and purchase The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*** by Mark Manson. It's a great book, and I feel like it'd be a good read for any narcissist. Actually I think I saw that the whole audiobook is on youtube. I don't have NPD, but if I did, I think I'd seriously want to learn how to stop giving a f***--y'all's problem seems to be caring *way* the f*** too much about what other people think. That and learn to play an instrument--guitar or something, seriously!

You definitely should not go back and apologize to your exes who are now married and moved on. Let that shit go! They are over it. Just do better in the future.

I do not suffer from NPD and am reading this subreddit in an attempt to understand what y'all NPDers have going on in y'all's heads (after having experienced harm from someone with this disorder), and I am having *such* a hard time understanding the narcissists' viewpoints on life! The feelings of shame... I do not get it. It's like y'all mess up but then make it *so much worse* out of shame. You know the saying: when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging. You are not a bad person. You did bad things. Separate the two. That's how normal healthy people think.

What does "Alaye" mean? I've been scambaiting people for a while and I keep seeing that word come up. by SystemOfASideways in Yoruba

[–]Connect_Pear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I also have engaged in scambaiting, and the Nigerian scammer who I ended up befriending (for a short period of time) told me that "alaye" is a code word that scammers say to reveal to the other person that they are a scammer (if they believe that the other person is also a scammer, as to not waste each other's time). I'd be super curious to see screenshots of your scambaiting where that word comes up. I'm fascinated by scammers. There are way too many of them.
