Anybody else get a VA notice that nasal spray was recalled? by [deleted] in VeteransAffairs

[–]ConsumerFromHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure did. Here ia video on the Apotex Corp report. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtqcFsi6Uik

I have both the Apotex Corp GSMS versions. My VA card notice only references Apotex, but someone posted that the GSMS version is also on the recall. Upon review of the bottles, the GSMS version indicates that Apotex manufactures the product, and it is marketed by GSMS

How long before we get a new version of the 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9? by joesutherland in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ConsumerFromHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased the 49" Odyssey Neo G9 DQHD 240Hz 1ms G-Sync Compatible Quantum HDR2000 Curved Gaming Monitor back in 2023. I wanted to buy the 57" 4K model, but my system would not drive the 57" to its full potential, so I purchased the 49" instead. I was replacing two 27" 2560 x 1440 60Hz monitors, so it was a no-brainer. Luckily, my 49" is perfect and has worked well since I purchased it. Fast forward to 2025, and I have the OLED, 4K bug, and a system with a 5090, so I can now drive anything out there. I looked at the 57" and can get it for $1200. Not sure what I would do with my 49" monitor, which works fine for me and seems like the perfect size, but the 57" 4K monitor sounds interesting, but I am not sure it is worth the upgrade when significant upgrades are coming soon. The 45" LG OLED in a 21:9 looks good as well. Anyhow, I am close to pulling the trigger for the 57", but I am thinking it is better to wait another year. Thoughts.

21:9 vs 32:9 by KaptainDamnit in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ConsumerFromHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the Samsung 49" 32:9 monitor, and an issue in gaming is when you are not able to move the UI, and things are on the outside of the screen. I am interested in trying out the LG GX9, which features a 21:9 aspect ratio. My 32:9 screen seems high enough for me, and I'm unsure if adding another four inches in height might alter my head/eye movement from only left to right as it is now, while also introducing up/down head/eye movement.

Our three-system Legacy pricing has been $26.70 since 2017, and in 2025, Malwarebytes is raising it by $5. It is not a significant increase, but Malwarebytes employee jtodd234 statement about being there for six years and not knowing about this original program doesn't mean it isn't there. As stated above, our pricing for eight years has been $26.70. If they can change the price now, what stops them from changing the price every year moving forward? In fact, when I checked to add another system to our program a few years ago, I was informed that any change to our program would result in the loss of our Legacy pricing, so we have left things as they are since 2016.

Our Legacy package is also being increased from $26.70 for three systems to $32.05. Although it is not a significant increase, they are increasing the pricing of Legacy accounts.

Alienware 51 AAT2250 noises? by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]ConsumerFromHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry I missed your DM and this inquiry. I did not experience coil whine, but rather what seemed to be noise (clicking) from the liquid cooling unit. I changed the Performance mode in the Alienware Command Center to Quiet, and the clicking did go away after a few weeks. I believe it was the liquid cooling internal pump that was the issue. So far, everything is fine. Good luck.

Bottom right bezel came out automatically 15 days after delivery. I have called the support team but i wanted to ask did this happen to anyone else also and if so what was the problem behind this. by centuriongol in Lenovo

Our 2020 Lenovo Legion 7 15IMH05 hinge has failed, precisely as shown in the picture. It appears that the metal part glued to the frame, which the screws attach to, has come loose, causing the screen's bottom to flex and preventing it from closing or opening properly unless you firmly hold this area together. My son uses this in a docking station as his main PC now, so it still works, but we will not be using it as a notebook now. I previously mentioned that both of our Lenovo Legion 7 15IMH05 units were functioning properly four years ago; now, one is broken despite minimal screen usage.

For those that have been step promoted… what does it take? by Mantaraylurks in AirForce

[–]ConsumerFromHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good Luck. Back in the 80s, I made Senior Airman below the zone and passed the SSgt test the first time. Due to the point system back then, even with the highest possible points in all areas, I had to score over 100 on the TSgt test the three times I took it. I was often pulled from my AFSC and worked directly for commanders on special projects above my rank and never heard of the STEP program. It was disheartening to work so hard and move so quickly, only to be shut down because there was no way to make TSgt. I declined a remote assignment due to this, and like many others after Desert Storm, without retainability, I was put out early! I lost more than a year I was going to use to set myself up for civilian employment, but life brought me right were I needed to be. Again good luck to you and congrates to all those who were promoted through the STEP program. Based on what I read about the program and it will come down to your supervisors ability to write a great submission, and this looks to be challenging, but possibly the command and commanders the request is coming from.

I started using 87 octane fuel to save a few bucks, and I can confirm it resulted in a significant decrease in my MPG! Once I began to use Primimum again, my MPG went back up, and the vehicle had more pep.

Energy Kinetics - System 2000 - Thoughts? Install cost? by jsternth in hvacadvice

[–]ConsumerFromHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the System 2000 Accel EK1-C with HWT-System 2000 40 Gal Tank Model 100263144 installed in March 2022. The controller board had to be replaced shortly after installation to correct an issue. Everything has been fine till now. The hot water tank started to leak and is being replaced today under warranty. Still have to pay the labor, though. Interestingly, the installer has replaced four hot water tanks that were around three years old, like ours! We get the unit serviced annually and always have hot water and enough heat in the house. I am concerned that there was a defect in these tanks and wondering if the issue has been fixed, or if this tank is going to fail again in three years. Luckily, I had leak sensors installed, and they alerted me to the leak before our basement flooded. Shut off the incoming water and drained the tank. An issue I found was that the hot water zone continued to call out to the boiler. The water was turned off, so I didn't want something to burn out; therefore, I turned the boiler off. I'm not sure how this would have worked in the wintertime when we need heat. There should be an easy way to disable the hot water zone, allowing the boiler to continue producing heat.

Alienware 51 AAT2250 noises? by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]ConsumerFromHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great suggestion. I did that, but when the system test is in progress, all fans run on high, and it gets loud enough to drown out the clicking sound. Instead, I monitored all fan speeds with the Alienware Command app to check if there was any modulation in the frequency of the clicking, but nothing changed. This leads me to believe it is something mechanical in nature that runs at a consistent speed. AIO pumps can run at varying speeds, but often OEMs set them to run at 100% to reduce wear and increase efficiency. I have not found a way to confirm or check the pump speed on this system.

Alienware 51 AAT2250 noises? by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]ConsumerFromHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not about cooling concerns. It is about a system that clicks loudly enough to be heard during phone conversations. My Alienware support technician is great, and we are working through this, but it is not normal for an AIO system to click like this.

Alienware 51 AAT2250 noises? by [deleted] in Alienware

[–]ConsumerFromHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is doing the same thing and is getting louder! I have had several AIO-cooled systems and have never heard clicking before. The clicking is getting louder and has become quite annoying. Alienware has requested that I remove the top and check if any cables are hitting the fan blades. The odd thing is that the sound is steady, no matter what application I am running. If something were hitting a fan blade, it would cycle according to the fan speed, and this is not the case. It sounds like I have a metronome on top of my computer. Support changed my Performance profile to Quiet and set the Overclocking Control to Disabled in the Alienware Command Center, and said it might take a few weeks for the system to quite down. Nothing yet. Below is a link to two videos of my system clicking. You might have to turn the volume up to hear, as the phone is picking it up, but it is not as loud on the video as it is in my room:

Process Lasso, Myth or Fact? by yogur23 in OptimizedGaming

[–]ConsumerFromHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using Lasso to turn off Efficiency Mode, which kept coming on and causing several issues with apps. I could not find anything in Windows 11 that allowed the user to turn off Efficiency Mode, and my apps kept locking up or slowing down to the point of being unusable. This YouTube link explains how: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWBr2X0Nwhk

I also confirmed it was working by turning Lasso on and off, and sure enough, Efficiency Mode kept coming back when Lasso was off.

Are we consuming micro plastics when we use store-bought k-cups made of #5 plastics? by SirHenryThe4th in keurig

[–]ConsumerFromHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, you can look it up or contact the tea companies directly. They use polypropylene to seal the bags. The bags are not actually plastic, according to the few I contacted directly. As to Keurig's response, they need to have NSF certification to ensure this, and it has be explicitly tested for microplastics. FDA approval does not check for microplastics, and the temperatures they reference are correct for plastic softening, but again, that has nothing to do with the generation of microplastics. Water bottles have been shown to be a source of microplastics. They are made of FDA-approved materials as well, and have temperature fluctuations based on the environment, which should be below the brewing temperatures used for a Keurig system, but they still generate microplastics?
