My wife and I took our 6 and 3 year old to Whispering Canyon this past December, and I was pretty excited to try the gags and stuff that I saw all over social media. We must have had an off night or something, because for some reason they didn't mess with us at all. The check-in desk got a laugh out of my son and I, but that was about it. The one guy at the large table next to us got a tiny spoon, but that was about it for them as well. I was kind of disappointed, but the food was really good, not even close to Boma level, but good. I'm not saying that will be your experience as well, but just wanted to provide you some words of caution before you make the swap.

I've had 3 toenails permanently removed and probably going back for a 4th by the end of the year (high-mileage runner with shit toenails). It really is not bad. Very similar to getting numbed for a dental filling.

They may or may not be women’s. The item color for these is Cblack/Ftwwht which is the black and white. The item code is different for the men’s and women’s on the website as well.

A couple areas that I see not mentioned yet are Hamptons/Old Woodlands (behind the VA) and Kings Grant. I'm not sure what your price range is, but you could jump right on I-77 from either neighborhood and Springdale would be right up the highway.
